Up for bid is an original and unmolested Porsche 1987 944 Turbo- a truly one-of-a-kind car. Why? Because one will not be able to find one in this color combo, condition, and mileage anywhere else, period. Commonly known internally and in the enthusiast community as the 951, this is a very low mileage 26 years old Porsche! If you are looking at this auction, you already know about the car along with its well-known great handling w/ near 50/50 weight distribution. Rated at only 217 HP w/ 243 TQ and 157mph top speed in 1987, it was and still is an enjoyable car for daily driving, weekend cruise, or Driver Education events etc...If you are looking for a little more hp power, an performance exhaust system with a MAF kit will resulted in 280+ horses to the rear wheels- much faster than a stock Turbo S. The combination of classic lines and unique color and extremely low mileage make this 951 will be at home in any enthusiast's collection. The previous owner/enthusiast was a physician and bought it in 2006 from the owner/dealer in NY with 21K original miles on the odometer. From 2006 to 2013, the car was driven for only two thousand miles!!! I acquired the car as to prevent it from going to the wrong hands and therefore gets abused and/or neglected. The exterior and interior color combo are very striking and look very classy with the addition of the OEM 993 Turbo twist wheels. The value of these fine handling cars have risen over the years and I have no doubt that it will continue this trend in the future- a recent Hagerty article I read confirmed this as well. Before I purchased the car, I ordered a CarFax report just to make sure and it came back 100% clean. The report also showed correct mileage and condition with no major services have been done or needed to be done to the car. With the exception of regular oil changes and yearly state inspections to ensure the vehicle is road worthy, nothing was needed. Timing belts and water pump was done in 2006 when the previous owner took ownership of the car at approx. 20K. This was a preventive maintenance due to age rather than mileage. I only have documentations for regular oil changes and yearly state inspections- this was all that the car needed. The car is sold as-is, where-is without any expressed or implied warranty- what you see is what you will get. The car comes with 18" 993 Turbo twist wheels as you see in the pix- I believe 8" in the front and 10" wide in the rears. Original wheels do not come with the car. The stock phone dials wheels are easy to find and are only a few hundred bucks. The factory Turbo twist, hollow spokes wheels, however, are much more expensive, harder to find and do come with the car. These are light and updated the look of the car nicely and make future tire selections much less of a headache vs the stock 16" phone dials. These are shod w/ 225/40 fronts and 265/35 rears with approx. 80% tread life left all around so no worries with passing state inspection. The rear wheels will take up to 285mm section width tires so that's what I'd put on when I need new rear tires. Brakes rotors and pads are all original and looks new- there are no lips to the rotors' edges. Everything works as it should with the exception of the sunroof- it is removable and works but raised only about 1/2 way due to the common plastic sunroof gears ($25 on eBay). To be honest, I rarely use the sunroof anyway and it can be taken completely off to store in a cover (included), so this was not an issue for me. Dash and interior are in great condition- no dash cracks, no cracks on glass or mirror, and no crack/s and/or pitting etc. on front/rear light lenses. These are very important should you want to pass inspection and also to make this into a collector's car. Muffler and exhaust tip are new as well as 1 year old battery. The car will accelerate swiftly, shift smoothly, track straight and stop on a dime. Even the A/C has been recharged and blows ice cold for those long trips with the wife or husband. Even though this turbo has been babied for most of its life, as with any 26+ years old cars, there are some expected and minor scratches/road rashes mostly on the front on the car-hey, it has 23K on the clock not Zero! I have too many cars, not enough space to store them, and can only drive one at a time so reluctantly, this one has to go to a new home. The car will be driven from time to time to keep everything in order so the mileage may go up slightly but otherwise it will be garage kept and wipe down at least once a week along with my other turbos and put on a battery tender and detailed weekly.
