The aforementioned cam, Volant cold air intake, Kooks long tube headers and Corsa exhaust means this bad boy whips up an estimated 500 horsepower. It is lowered on BC Racing struts/springs and rolls on 19-inch CSL style wheels for the most menacing stance you've ever seen. Inside, there's Kenwood audio with 7-inch touch-screen navigation, a 300-watt Kicker amp and a Boston Acoustics 10-inch sub woofer. The 364 cubic inch alloy V8 is an animal at pretty much any RPM, with more than enough low-end grunt but obviously, things change for the scary beginning around three grand. At that point, the rip to 6,000 RPM happens with Winternationals ferocity and if the traction control is off, it can get a little sideways if you nail 2nd gear at full whack. (ask me how I know -Foy) It is probably a mid-to-high 12-second car and corners like a C6 with two extra seats. It is very predictable and approaches its lofty handling limits gradually, making you look (and feel) like a better driver . . . It's got stance folks and the dark tint looks sinister. Continental 265/30s (rear) and 235/35s (front) on 19-inch wheels are tucked beautifully . . . The 6.0 liter LS2 was new for 2005 (5.7 liter LS1 in '04) and came with 50 more horsepower and 35 extra lbs-ft of torque. Of course this GTO has about 500 horsepower . . . Corsa exhaust exiting under GTO rear diffuser . . . Pontiac sold the Monaro based GTO for three years (2004-06) and the powerful luxury coupe completely deserves the fabled fender badge it wears, in both form and function. Unlike other makes, after 1974 Pontiac didn't sully the GTO name by using it on lesser vehicles. (Malibu, Impala etc.) Ergo, any GTO is respected. Period. With a fire-breathing 6.0 liter V8, close ratio 6-speed manual, 4-wheel discs, 4-wheel independent suspension and proper rear wheel drive, the '05 GTO is a true thoroughbred . . . and at the top of that racy group are cars like this GTO . . . As you can see (and hear) in the video, the intake, headers and exhaust upgrades take full advantage of the cam. Even with the cam, it's amazing how much low RPM torque this Pontiac has and the threatening exhaust note is absolutely devastating. We installed brand new pads and rotors at all four corners, did an air conditioner evac/recharge and gave it an Mobile1 synthetic oil change plus a filter. This 2005 Pontiac GTO is a true GTO. Comfortable, great looking, capable of epic speed and the target audience wants intensely to own it. As you might expect, the larger engine cars are at the top of everybody's list ('05-'06) and this Poncho makes about a hundred more ponies than stock. All of which is why we wanted the car and why everybody else will too. Pontiac is no more and there won't be any more GTOs. Grab one now while supplies last.
