The original Guards Red paint still keeps a high gloss and there are no noticeable flaws. It sits low on its 18" Ruf wheels and RS suspension like it’s ready to pounce; like it just wants to go. Rubber and glass are all original and in excellent shape. The interior is near flawless, showing very little wear in the leather and no cracks or warping in the dash. Headliner has no sagging or tears. Carpets are clean and fresh. Climate control, lights, windows, sunroof, mirrors, locks, and all controls and instruments work perfectly. The are no warning lights, service is up to date with a fresh major and meticulous records dating back to the car’s delivery. There are no leaks, no smoke, no noises. The Carrera 2’s lightness, combined with OEM RS springs, Ruf 18s and near new Michelin Pilots make for spirited handling. It feels very pure in that it relates to the driver with a back-and-forth exchange, rather than take over with a host of electronic aids. It does require some driver input at the limit, but is perfectly civilized in traffic or on a Sunday drive. Adding to that is a recent brake service to makes sure things don’t get too out of hand.
