Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1973 Triumph TR-6 with a 4 speed non overdrive transmission. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. I'm not a mechanic or a dealer just a guy selling a very easy to complete project car that I have no time to finish. The car does not need much to get it back on the road so please read the auction in full so you are clear on what the car needs prior to bidding. Heritage: This is a numbers matching car and I have done my research online and believe it to be so but you would need to do your own research to ensure that is the case. The production date is Dec. 1972, commission number is CF 3837 U, engine number is CF 3941 UE, body tag# 1 is T 3996 CF and body tag #2 is CF 3941 UE. The paint code is #72 Pimento red and the trim code is #11 black. Please go to the Heritage-Motor-Centre.co.uk or the International Triumph TR Registry to verify my research as I make no guarantees about this. If you get a Heritage Certificate the value of this car will soar. Mechanicals: I purchased the car from a guy who had taken the radiator out for repairs and then took other items out do more but never put it back together due to a divorce. The car was running and driving prior to starting the repairs and I'm told she drove very well. Here is what I think the car needs to get back on the road: install radiator ( looks to have been reconditioned by previous owner ), install radiator cooling duct, install all coolant hoses ( they look OK but I would replace them with new ones if keeping the car ), install vacuum hoses, install points & points plate, install coil, replace rear drivers side brake cylinder ( leaks so brakes are down at this time ), bleed brake system and flush the gas tank. My local repair shop estimated the work to take 12 to 15 hours and that included adjusting and tuning the carburetors as well. This month I installed new plugs, new ignition wires, new air filters, oil change and installed a new battery. I have 12 more photos of the engine bay so please send me an email if you wish to see them. Electrical's: I spent many hours going through this area and here is what is working at this time: headlights, wipers, front & rear turn signals, front & rear running light, brake lights, backup lights, license plate lights, heater / defrost fan, interior courtesy light and the radio. The only thing I have not gotten around to is the horn. Interior: Is in very, very nice condition as seen in the photos and has a new complete carpet kit installed. I was told all gauges work but can not guarantee this. All gauges are correct "Smith" ones ( no after market gauges here ). Exterior: The car looks great and I just had a mobile detail truck come out and hand wash and then wax the car. The paint shines great and is smooth to the touch with no gritty feel. The soft top is serviceable but I would plan on replacing it in the near future. I just painted the wheels in correct "Moss" silver, install correct mat black wheel centers and installed new TR-6 wheel center decals. If you wish to see all the photos I have just email me and I'll get them over to you so you can get a clearer picture of the cars condition. Underbody: This area looks very good given the cars age and the frame looks very good as well. Trunk: The truck is rock solid ( see photos )and comes with a spare tire and jack. Sorry, no top cover or tonneau cover. Buy It Now: The car is priced well below it's true value and while I'm open to offers please don't waste your time with silly low ball offers ( we all know what the car is worth ). The offers would need to be above the starting price or current bid price on the car. Please understand that I will only use E-bays prescribed methods to close the auction so don't ask me to do other wise. In Closing: Let me just say this is a very is easy project and when back on the road she will be worth well over $8500 and even more with a Heritage Certificate .The above description is my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. Being that this is a project I'm selling the car "AS IS" with no warranties / guarantees implied or expressed. I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or the extra photos I have available please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. If you need to have the car shipped to your location you can get a free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/ .The auction IS OPEN to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Ronex shipping for free quotes. Please know that listing this car on E-bay is not cheap so you are bidding to purchase the car and must have funds available at auctions end. On Sep-28-13 at 09:08:50 PDT, seller added the following information: All- In just two hours the car has drawn much interest / emails. So to cut down on the questions I'm adding these note. Mechanicals: Yes all the parts shown come with the car and they should be all you need to get the car up and running with the exception of the rear wheel cylinder. Again, while the coolant hoses are ok I would replace them to ensure the reliability of the car. Number Matching: Yes the commission number, engine number and body tag numbers are correct in the listing! This is a true 4 digit car making it one of the first cars off the production line for 1973. Tires: They are all matching Goodyear Invicta tires with good to average tread life remaining. Title: I have a North Carolina state issued title signed by the previous owner ( they owned the car for the previous 13 years prior to me buying the car ) and it has been notarized so all it needs is your printed name and signature. I hope all this helps and please let me know if you wish me to send you the full 38 photos of the car for a better look see. Cheers, Jeffrey
