1980 MIDNIGHT BLUE CJ7 3 STAGE FRAME OFF RESTORATION I purchased the Jeep about 6 years ago basically stock and previous owner had it looking pretty good with a fresh paint job (I don't know whats under that paint, but if you look at the some of the pics above the wheel well you can see the factory 'spot welds' in the steel tub). After a couple of years I put the Rubicon 4" suspension on it along with the 33" Goodyear MTA's and new wheels. Drove it occasionally but was not comfortable with the condition of the frame and parked it in search of a new frame. Found a 'Rolling Chassis' with a spectacular Frame, but it also had a AMC 360 along with I believe a 727 transmission that all looked brand new! This is when the fun began and the dollars started rolling! I took the Jeep and the rolling chassis to one of the Best Jeep shops in the Country - Unlimited Offroad in Fenton MI - Look them up online to see the kind of work they do... If you want a Hemi transplant or a $150,000 Jeep or Land Cruiser this is the place you take your ride to get it done right! They started by taking the engine to one of the best engine shops in Detroit to make sure everything checked out with the rebuilt AMC 360 and made sure it was dialed in and took the transmission to one of the best Tranny shops in Detroit to do the same! When the two came back ready to go they began the body swap and every upgrade along the way to get it to perform flawlessly. This has got to be the most responsive carbureted motor I have ever drove. -HOLLEY TRUCK AVENGER CARBURETOR -DUI IGNITION W/ LIVE WIRES -EDELBROCK HEADERS -CUSTOM EXHAUST w/ FLOW-MASTER MUFFLERS (look at the pics... this is probably the best looking exhaust you will see on a Jeep period!) -DANA 44 -WIDE TRACK AXLES -4:11 YUKON GEARS -DETROIT LOCKER -ART CARR 3 SPEED AUTO SHIFT The list can go on and on for days, but you get the idea... everything from a new radiator to the Rubicon Suspension to the Warn Winch this thing has the Best of the Best!!! This is not a trailer queen but has not been offroaded either. If you want a Jeep that you may think twice before going down that dirt road or two track and decide 'what the heck' this is your Jeep! If you want a Jeep that you can show off at a car show and get a ton of looks even though its not perfect this is your Jeep! This Jeep has 'touch up' paint here and there and a few blems, but look at the pics - YOU BE THE JUDGE!!! Radio stopped working last summer... and although I presume it is just a fuse... I have had no desire to get it working and have a hunch that you won't either once you are behind the wheel of this beauty!! I am a music lover and normally don't go anywhere without my tunes, but this Jeep sounds so good and is so much fun to drive with the horsepower, torque, and 3 speed 'clutchless' shifter you won't be able to wipe the grin off your face!
