This 1967 SWB Porsche 912 is fully licensed and inspected in Texas. It presents itself well as a nice driver but is not yet show quality. As the pictures clearly show, the car has decent paint and a nice interior. It is very presentable and handles well, as a Porsche should. I bought the car as a road worthy restoration project. I planned to drive it while I restored it, according to my available free time and my pocket book. The car had been sitting for several years and did not run. I flushed the fuel lines, installed a new fuel filter, replaced the internally corroded fuel tank and cleaned and adjusted the Solex carburetors. I tested the distributer and found the Pertronix ignition was bad so I installed original points and condenser. The engine fired right up and runs strong but does have a slight hesitation during acceleration (which does not detract from enjoying the car), which could be a jetting issue. I have rebuilt the entire brake system including; new pads, turned rotors, rebuilt all calipers and a new master cylinder. I flushed the system with Castrol GTX LMA brake fluid and repacked the bearings. The transmission shifts smoothly with no issues. Steering is light and responsive, typical for the Porsche. The interior is in very good shape. No tears or noticeable wear and is very presentable, as you can see by the pictures. The seats are newer and very comfortable. The rubber and chrome is in very good shape along with the glass, which has no chips or cracks. The tires are also in good shape with plenty of tread left on them. The electrical system works great with all the lights and signals working properly. As mentioned above, this is a registered and fully inspected car with regular everyday driver tags, not limited use tags which do not require a state inspection. Original items include, but not limited to, Fusch wheels with alloy lug nuts, butterfly horn button, turn signal lenses, headlight assemblies and five green-on-black instrument gauge cluster. The gas gauge and clock do not work. The car does have typical body rust for its age. The pans have been replaced (not by me!) with flat metal and there are a couple of smaller areas that are rusted through that will need to be replaced/repaired over time. I had planned to enjoy this project and continue to restore it, but during my search for bits and pieces, I stumbled across a LWB Tangerine 912. It has various issues but the color is original and it was what I was looking for so I bought it. I’m somewhat disappointed that I’m back at square one but I cannot have two projects at once, so this one needs to find another enthusiast who wants a drivable project without breaking the bank. VERY REASONABLE RESERVE --- This car is not worth the $20,000 to $25,000 many 912’s are commanding and the reserve is way below that. But it is a fun driver for those who love the look and feel of the SWB early 912/911 series.
