The fall is the best time for riding and I am looking for a home for my 1980 CX 500D where it will be ridden. This little beauty was given to me by my best friend when he bought my 1981 Silver Wing last year. I never rode it which is a darn shame and its been sitting very sad waiting for someone to ride it. If you know anything about the CX, you know the motors are bullet proof. The bike has plenty of miles on it and is on its second engine. My friend bought the bike new and it has never known another owner except me and I pretty much know everything about the bike.Fires right up, everything works on the bike, lights, horn, etc. clutch and trans are fine. No leaks ( we just replaced the shift lever seal) The seat is a little worn, but no tears, The tires are fairly new and are sport tires, they still have the little nubbies on them brakes are fine. The bike has more of a sport look and ride, The windshield has been cut down and the stock handlebars have been changed to sportier straight handlebars. The new yellow paint adds to the sport look and it would make a great cafe racer project. I'll be glad to try and answer any questions about the bike, but any heavy duty tech questions I will defer to my friend, he will be glad to answer them.
