Vehicle Detail
1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. There are way too many aftermarket and custom items for me to remember, but I’ll try. The heads, rockers, lifters and pushrods were replaced last fall with performance parts. The suspension is a 3 1/2” Rubicon lift. The Rubicon control arms have been replaced with adjustable control arms. I actually welded at least one of them, so they are not really adjustable any more. I had custom front and rear drive shafts built to work with the 231 SYE transfer case. I replaced the rear axle with a Ford 8.8 (Google it). It’s running a M1 intake with a Fastman TB and other goodies. The battery is relocated into the rear of the truck. I replaced the stock radio with a Sony w/ USB connection for my iPod. I also will include the Garman GPS. The tires are 33” Yokohama Ice Terrain tires on Steel Wheels. This Jeep is actually my winter ride for the past 8 years. As I ride a motorcycle for 8-9 months of the year. It has an ARB Bull Bar with KC spot lights hooked up to the factory fog light switch. Now what doesn’t work, the A/C probably just need Freon? The passenger’s side window falls of the rail if it goes all the way down. So, I just don’t use it at all. The lift gate is dented, but works. The transmission is acting up intermittently. Sometimes the check engine light come on for the tranny for a few days and it revs high before it shifts, then the next day it’s fine and the light goes out. This is the only real issue as far as I’m concerned. I am going to buy a brand new Grand Cherokee Summit and hopefully get fifteen years out of it as I have with this Jeep. This Jeep is not perfect, but I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on it over the years and never scrimped on replacement parts. This Jeep requires constant love and attention, so if you’re not a gearhead and don’t understand that lifted vehicles need monthly maintenance, don’t bother bidding or following. If you are a “Niner” fan you will appreciate this truck and all the work that has been done to it. This truck is fast and powerful, it attracts a lot of attention.
