Vehicle Detail

First of all, a few things about this auction. This is the second listing, and based on first listing, I need to make a few things clear. 1. The price is the price. It won’t come down no matter how many times I list the Syncro. I am not desperate for money, I don’t even really want to sell it, but I really need some room, so I am listing it, in hopes that it will find a new and good home. If you are not interested in the Syncro at this price, please move on, and don’t waste either of our time. I will not take your lowball offer, I don’t really care how many auction reality TV shows you watch, or what kind of wheeler-dealer you fancy yourself to be, you will not get my Syncro without paying my price, end of story. I will not make an insane desperate deal with you after the auction ends, and I won’t make deals with you outside of Ebay. The vehicle is being sold on Ebay for both of our protection, any transaction WILL go through Ebay. If you wait for the end of the auction to send me an email, thinking you can snake a deal, you are sorely mistaken. If you need or want a Syncro, this is a great deal, and they don‘t come along often, so you should think about acting on it. If you are simply looking to snake a crazy deal, run along. I am not selling this as a mess, it is an easily completed project, one I will complete myself if time becomes available to me, so this price will not last forever. If I fix it and sell it, the price could shoot to $12k….or you can fix it and make that money yourself, or have a great Syncro to keep. When it died, this was a daily driver that traveled the country, camped, offroaded, and blasted circles around other vehicles in the snow. It died from head gasket failure, had an engine swap, and sat too long without being finished or run, and the FI system doesn‘t like that. That is all that is wrong with it. 2. ANY violation of Ebay terms of service will be reported immediately. 3. I am an accommodating seller, within reason. I am not looking to rip anyone off, I will answer questions and do my best to help you get the most value out of this transaction. It is a big purchase, so I understand you may need more information to be comfortable making it. If you are serious, I will do my best to provide good customer service. If you are not, there is a good chance I will be rude to you. First, the bad. Does not run, might need new ECU and possibly a fuel injector or two, and maybe a fuel pump. Could be as simple as a fuel pump/bad filter, could require an injection system rebuild. Haven’t had time to look, working on too many projects. ECU, mass air, injectors, and all sensors for a complete rebuild can be had for less than $1500. Missing deck lid, a better one can be custom made from plywood and sound deadening foam, something you would have to do for most engine conversions anyway. It walked away at the shop one day, sadly. Carpet is intact but shows its age. It does have stains. There is one (shopping cart?) ding on the driver side, it is small and round, and can easily be removed. No hubcaps. Upholstery all intact but definitely shows age, will need seat covers. The good….. As far as I know, I am the third owner. This vehicle has never lived in the Rust Belt. Has brand new head gaskets, does not leak when running. Engine has 105k, came from another Vanagon. AC works. Alternator is fairly new, water pump is new. Engine will turn over, and sporadically sputter and run, but is not getting fuel. Needs time I don’t have at the moment. Transmission is sound, has normal seepage for tranny this age but does not need regular fluid, and does not pop out of gear or have any problems at all. Driveshaft is good and U joints still quiet. Locker engages and holds. VC still passes the steering lock test, engages well and at proper times. Headliner and dash still clean and in factory condition. All doors and locks work. No broken glass at all. Body is straight. Radiator and heater core are fine, no leaks. This is a Colorado vehicle, we do not salt roads here, there is no real rust to speak of, just some spots of cosmetic surface rust. Undercarriage is clean and straight and rust free. Almost brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain TA tires. Working Jensen 40x2 amp and Pioneer speakers. New in Box OEM Boge shocks and strut inserts, brand new and ready to be installed. The extras. The van comes with the following extras, included in THIS AUCTION ONLY. If the Vanagon does not sell in this auction, I will be selling the extras separately, but the Vanagon price WILL REMAIN THE SAME. Has complete second engine, not seized, needs head gaskets and probably heads but otherwise fine, has flywheel. As a core it is worth anywhere from $500-$1500, depending on who wants it. Also comes with second set of fuel injection and exhaust, use them or sell them and buy new parts, up to you. Disclaimer: I am doing my best to represent everything as honestly as I can. I can’t guarantee everything is perfect, however, I deliberately priced the Van to reflect this, and as I said, I will do my best to accommodate any questions or concerns during the auction. I want to be happy, I want you to be happy. Thanks for looking. http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/news/pictures/10-modern-day-collectors-cars-1986-1991-vw-vanagon-camper-syncro
