Vehicle Detail
1972 Chevy Nova Engine: Chevy 350 cu. in. - Crane roller rockers - Four bolt mains - B&M 162 blower (set up for street) - Bronze guides - 750 Holley carb - Steel crank - Forged "D" pistons - B&M blower cam. Drive Train: 700 R-4 transmission, specially built. Has some stall in converter. Lock up in transmission can be switched off on dash. Car tacs 2000 at 60 mph with lock up switch on, which is good for cruising. Has a B&M ratchet shifter. Has a 3:91 Chrysler Posi-trac rear end with Chevy bearings, narrowed with large drum brakes. Disc brakes in front. Has adjustable traction bars, but has a very soft ride on the street. Frame has been narrowed and connected. Wheel wells are 5" wider on each side, with a stock look inside the trunk. Tires are G/T radials: Front 205/70SR14. Rear 275/60SR15 Has dual truck mufflers which are fairly quiet. Paint and Interior: Paint is tri-coat white metallic. Car was restored in 1991, but is near flaw-less. Under body is black satin urethane. Under carriage is satin black. Custom interior is blue and black and is very well done and comfortable. The rear seat was narrowed to fit the wheel wells before upholstery. Car does not have a radio and there is an air conditioner panel on the dash. It does not have an air conditioner, but there are extra grooves on the aluminum engine pulleys for a compressor. Glass is original except for the windshield, which is new. Mileage on the car is 2701, but was 0 and driven some with a 305 in it. The restored car probably has less than 1200 miles on it. The Nova's of these years are exceptionally solid. This car was built for pleasurable driving. Cons: I personally don't like the ratchet shifter, it's alright, but for the street a simple shifter would be better for me. Also I think the blower is a bit noisy with the hood open, but negligible otherwise. People say it sounds good to them. The undercarriage needs touching up in spots. Overall the car is excellent for the street. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them. Call Gary at 316-744-0381
