1978 Ford Thunderbird 26,000 original miles, clean and garage kept since new. The car has a 351/400 M engine, motorcraft 2bbl carbureator, and an automatic transmission. The car could probably use a "minor" tune up because it has sat more than it has been driven. The factory air conditioning still retains the R12 refrigerant and blows cold. The tires on the car were replaced about 4 years ago with new radials. There is no rust on the body. It was completely Z-barted when new. There are about 4 small dings in the hood where it appears as if something fell out of the rafters of the garage onto the hood before I bought the car. I am sure that a PDR (paintless dent removal) company could remove the dings. There is also a ding on the passenger side door. The original bronze paint shines nicely with a few imperfections/discoloration on the headlight doors. The underside of the car is original and very nice. The door jams, bottoms of the doors, underside of the hood and trunk opening are very clean. The interior is like new with the exception of some discoloration on the door panels and a small scrape/mark on the backseat. The factory headlights open and close like new. The factory clock still ticks like a new one. The only thing on the car that quit working is the fuel gauge. The car is completely original with the exception of the radio. The original radio was replaced with an am/fm cassette when the car was fairly new. I have owned the car for about 6 years and I purchased it from my wife's grandfather. The car is basically an untouched original. If you are looking for a Thunderbird from this era, you will not be disappointed. This car will only go up in value.
