1977 Lotus Elite 503 ~ Super cool car that looks like an Esprit in the front, with fenders similar to the Lanca Stratos (very exotic). This was the sports car Lotus made with 4 seats, so you could bring the family with you. This car was first to use the aluminum block 2.0 four cylinder engine they used in the Lotus Esprits. The 503 model was the BEST you could get, as the 501 was the base model, the 502 added AC, and the 503 added power steering! This car is in great shape for its age, it has always been stored indoors. It has 14,980 original miles! The previous owner has owned since 1979, he passed away in 2003 and car has not been drove since! It did stay indoors, interior is in great shape, outside is nice shape too, no rust anywhere (its fiberglass), all body tags are there. 5 speed stickshift transmission (sloppy linkage, needs adjusted). Tires are all like new, white raised letter GoodYear Eagles turned white letters in. Duel exhaust. Power windows (yes they work). Coolest feature on the car~ sporty racing style gas cap on BOTH driver AND passanger side rear pillar, so you can pull to any gas pump you want! These cars were built in limited numbers, and I have heard that somewhere around 2300 were ever made. Add that fact that this is the sought after 503 model (best options) and this is really a neat, special collectors car, for any Lotus fan, or car collector in general. These don't come up for sale often ~ own something unique! This car will need some TLC to get on the road again... It was parked running fine 10 years ago, it has sat ever since (in a climate controled garage). Car does have a new battary, and a new coil. Car turns over but does not start. It is getting fuel, the fuel pump works. Timing belt is in good shape. This should be an easy fix. If you are looking for an affordable low mileage exotic, and something no one else has at the car shows, here you go! This car will be worth the effort, a little tinkering and you can be cruising it later this summer! I have the origianal owners manual, and some reciepts that go with the car.
