1978 Trans AM Gold Special Edition The Gold Y88 Special Edition was on a limited run and you could only order it for about a three month period back in late 1977. .They rolled of the line from about January 2nd to the end of the production year of 1978 which was around the end of July 1978. These cars sell for a very high price when fully restored. Some have gone for as much as $49,000. Since they were produced for such a short period of time there were only 6529 automatics produced. Birds and pin stripping were never re-applied after last person re painted the car. Build Sheet tells you that the car is an authentic numbers correct Special Edition Trans Am.This Trans Am needs a little body work and a good paint job. Doors are a little way from the previous owner not doing a good job on paint prep. Car runs perfectly. Engine has been rebuilt along with the transmission. It has a new carb and new intake manifold but I do have the original intake manifold and will include it. It is a clear Texas title with no accidents. Some rust has been repaired so body has no rust on it at the present time. With another $6,000 to $8,000 this car could easily be work $25,000 or more. It is a definite head turner even in its present condition. Power windows are operational, power door locks, cruise control, intermittent wipers, power trunk release, this car had it all. AC compressor is not present but it was equipped with air conditioning.I will not take any trades so please do not ask.
