Vehicle Detail
Rare 4-Door Sport Sedan For everything there is a season. After owning this vehicle since 2001, it is time to let someone else enjoy it. The memories I have with this car are beyond words. They provided comfort during a dark time and back into happy times. But alas, she mainly sits now, waiting and wanting someone else to open up her engine and let it roar. This car was manufactured in LosAngeles and was number 101 of the line in the Fall of 1967. These 4-Door Sport Sedans have no 'C' piller between the two doors. When the windows are down, these cars were sometimes called a 'hard top convertible' due to the open air feeling cause by the long sloping fastback roof design. I've lost track how many times I've gotten comments on this car. Even though Chevy made over a 100K copies, very few still exist. Most were crushed or cannibalized for their 2 door cousins. I am the 3rd owner. Original owner was a gal from Iowa that moved to Arizona where the car spent most of its life. There is still a vintage AAA motor club sticker from Arizona on the bumber. She traded the car into a dentist in exchange for dental work. The dentist sold it to a NASCAR official who never re-titled it and put it up for sale on Ebay when I came into possesion of it. She runs incredible and really loves to cruise on the open road. Around town, she feels held back, but on the highway, she glides. Hear are the fine specifics of the upkeep and restoration done, not necessarily in chronological order; Bead blasted down to bare metal and repainted with PPG 2 stage paint. Replaced both front fenders. Passenger with rehabilitated fender, drivers, with rust free AZ from Desert Valley Auto Parts (yes, ,from the TV show of same name). Front and rear seats re-upholetered (10 years ago) and carpet. Restored trunk with factory correct splatter paint.NOS Wheel Covers. NOS teal floor mats. Front fender cornering lamps. Interior lighting package. Restored and converted AC to R-134. New AC Evaporator. NEW drums all the way around. New brakes front and rear. New wheel cylinders front and rear. Complete flush of all brake lines. New Master cylinder. New rear differential oil and seal. New front bearings. New wheel seals front and rear.New radiator.New heater core. New radiator hoses and belts. ALL steering linkage replaced. Heavy guage dual exhuast with slight 'rumble' mufflers. Professionally rebuilt factory correct Rochester Quadrajet. 1968 327 with camel humps rebuilt by Coil Racing Engine of McHenry. Mild cam. Rebuilt Powerglide transmission, NEW U-Joints. Rebuilt starter and altenator. New battery cables. Removed gas tank and replaced straps. New rubber door seals and roof rail seal and trunk seal. Have vent window seals still in packaging. Lots of misc spare parts. What needs attention: Door locks are sitcking and really need to be removed and re-greased. She has a slight rear main oil seal leak, so I keep a drip pan underneath. While there is no rust, there are two very small bubble spots on the DVAP fender (drivers) and the bottom rear drivers quarter. When the car was bead blasted, she was completely free of rust and bondo except for the one small spot on the rear quarter that you can see in the pics.Rear window is not chipped or cracked, but seal is bad and needs to be redone. Water will leak into the trunk compartment if you wash the car. I have lowered the original reserve on this vehicle.
