Vehicle Detail

I've had some luck selling my TR8 collection. The green, stock one is gone and sold for $8K, which is a little bit less than I paid for it... but so it goes. This gold one, is the keeper but between this and the 911 and a boat or two... this one is gonna go. Here's the write-up from when last I listed it. It's a worry to me that this car doesn't attract more interest. It looks as stock as they come and in as good condition as any listed, and yet it has these incredible features that makes it such a great car... go figure. Someone ought to buy this car. It's a really great one. Here's the old write-up, which, I think, pretty accurately describes it: .This is a really cool car. It's like a Camaro stuffed into a British sports car. "How's that?" you say? Well, the engine has been modified to deliver 285 horsepower. Stock is 135 as I recall. This car is quick. And it sounds so great at idle, as it has cams that make it do that American muscle car thing where it idles a little unevenly until you give it gas. So it sounds. A little. Like. This when you. Are. Sitting at. A red light. It's really inspiring. The car is in great shape. I can't say it's the original mileage but I wouldn't doubt it. It's been repainted and redone almost everywhere. Limited slip. Beefed up suspension, I think it's a close ratio transmission. I don't know. And I've forgotten what I do know. I do know this: it's a reliable, super quick little monster that looks stock. The bumpers are fiberglass shells. The wheels are 15" Panasports. They're wider and fuller than the stock issue and make the thing look like a modern car, not some 30-someodd year old English car. It's a car that was ahead of it's time ('the shape of things to come') and still looks contemporary while it's a true vintager car at the same time. When I bought it 6 years ago the write up said:The motor is original but has been modified. 3/4 cam, forged pistons, Carrillo rods, bored .30 over, Edelbrock intake manifold, new Holley carburetor, headers, new Perma-Cool fans, high torque starter, new KYB strut inserts and rear shocks, new lower ball joints, Mallory ignition, Sanden AC compressor, new EZ-ON convertible top, roll bar, repainted once in original Midas Gold, Panasports with new 15" tires, recent exhaust system, Very nice and very fast TR8. OK, so 6 years later all that is pretty much still true. I've put a couple of thousand miles on it. Everything is still new, fresh, call it what you will. It's always been garaged, probably never seen rain. Not on my watch, anyway. So. Needless to say, it ain't the $7,000 TR8. I've had some of those, too, and they're nice enough. This one is the best. I've seen a couple more with this much work and they're all in the $12,000K range. This one is, too. But it's probably $15,000 worth of upgrades. Also, I should add this is a pretty trouble-free car. Unlike it's brethren. I store it for the winter, get in it in the spring and off we go. I use it intermittently, and it's no problem any time I get in it. It goes. There are a couple of small blemishes on the trunk. No big deal. Otherwise there's no visible problem. And no rust. Thanks for looking. It's a really fun car. You'll love it. The interior is great, the AC is cold. The top still looks new. The tires are very good. Get in it and go.
