1st BUY IT NOW wins!!! 1998 FORD TAURUS, MECHANICS SPEC. GOOD ENGINE, BODY, INTERIOR . TRANSMISSION REQUIRES REPAIR. THIS CAR DROVE LIKE NEW UNTIL TRANS FAILURE. This was my daily driver until trans balked. Engine runs very smoothly, no noticeable difference from new. Oil changed religiously at 3000 mile intervals. Never had to add oil between changes. All electrics in good working order when last driven. Body is in great condition, no collision damage, very little in the way of door dings or bumps. Trunk lid has paint bubbles at base of lid. Paint in poor condition, clear coat is peeling in several areas, no rust. Interior seats, upholstery, and headliner great for the year, no rips, tears, splits, or burns (non-smoker). Good glass. Tires are premium Michelins with approx 60% tread remaining. VERY COLD AC. Battery has been removed and is not available so I could not get an accurate odometer reading but 125K is close. Car will have to be towed or repaired locally and then could be driven anywhere. I will assist in finding a repair facility and arranging transport for repair at buyer's option. I have owned and driven this car continuosly since 2001 with vertually no problems. I am the 2nd owner. At time of purchase it had approx 45,000 miles. It was previously owned by the State of Florida and used primarily as a supervisor's vehicle for personal transportation related to job duties. Was never used for patrol or other duties. Car was envolved in a minor accident that required replacement of the right front fender and light assembly. All work was done well with no frame or suspension damage.
