Vehicle Detail
Up for Auction a 1974 Pontiac Firebird Formula 455. Where do I start, GREAT F BODY CAR, in my opinion these 74's are the last great year to have. 74 is the last year for the tradional back window (70-74) the true dual exhaust, the 160 speedo, the 455 which was taken away in 75 I believe, and then brought back in 76 and ALOT more. Car was bought about 3 years ago and was driven daily. Due to circumstance I am now listing it for sale, This car is a NOT number matching. Unfortunately the east coast winters have had there way with the floor pans and I have to many projects going on to start another one, my loss is your GAIN. This car is FAST, I LOVE IT, AND IT KILLS ME TO SELL. car comes equipped with a 455 4brl engine 4 speed Borg Warner Transmission with a Hurst T grip shifter on the floor, Air conditioning, Posi rear, front disc brakes. Basically this is a great project car with anyone with the time and knowledge to fix this car will appreciate it. These F bodys are increasing in value RAPIDLY and this one with the proper knowledge is a easy fix for anyone looking to start with a great F body Firebird. This firebird has all the goodies that you want the big block the engine the 4 speed, Hurst T grip shifter , AC posi rear, red with black interior and HONEYCOMB wheels. Breakdown goods+bads Engine - The 455 engine is believed to be worked up on the previous owner, I do not know the exact specifications but this car is FAST. The 455 runs strong has a edelbrock performer intake ,edelbrock 4 barrel carb and hooker headers installed, electronic HEI ignition and mickey Thompson valve covers. The engine runs great has a small oil leak somewhere while running (where I don't know), the transmission shifts smooth as is should, the air conditioning was charged last summer it lasted all season until it eventually leaked out from a hose. The air conditioner has be refitted by previous owner to take R 134a as supposed to the old R 12 being that you cannot obtain R 12 anymore, this benefits everyone, new master cylinder has been installed, new windshield washer motor, new window felts,. Everything works as though it should in this car. Fix the floor drive it everyday or make it a show car that decision is yours. Body - Body is straight everywhere no apparent dents anywhere to be found, There is some minor bubbling near the rear window (as they are known for, check it out in the pics), the rear window has a small leak which probably contribution to the rust on the floor pans. Car is straight except for the floor pans. Floor pans will need to be replaced from the passenger side of the car front to be back. The rear passenger sub frame has also started to rust and will need to be replaced, the rear passenger floor pan separated form the rocker panel (see pics) so this floor will need to be fixed before any real hard driving to occur. Passenger rocker shows rust as in pics and will need to be fixed as well, trunk was redone at some time does show some rust. Drivers door hinge will need to be replaced opening and closing is rough. stance on the car is great, car has traction bars as well Paint - Paint looks good from 5 feet but closer looks shows fading and some areas where the clear is peeling, passneger side if you look real close has light spatter from someone running over a grey paint in the street (see pics) Interior - Interior is all there black vinyl drivers bottom has a rip as showin in pics headliner needs to be redone and rear seat backrests need to reupholstered. Dash recently devolved a crack, high note on the horn stopped working, Speedo is not working Wheels - I bought the 15" honeycomb wheels myself and restored them myself, they were professionally stripped, I then primed and repainted factory steel magnesium GM color, and the tires are near NEW. I have seen these rims go on eBay alone for $1,500 , these wheels are becoming not only harder to find but as well as more expensive to obtain!. Tires are near new there only about year old all the threading is full and there. This car was also previously listed, I had several questions about hurricane sandy and the car. So let me add that this car was not involved in hurricane sandy in anyway. Car was moved into a safe a secure garage through the hurricane period. This is not a flood car in anyway I DESCRIBED CAR TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY, BE THE JUDGE CHECK THE PICS!, SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE!!!!! CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS, KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS CAR IS NEAR 40 YEARS OLD. IF YOU ARE A CAR GUY YOU KNOW WHAT THESE CARS ARE LIKE GREAT CAR DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS DEAL THESE FIREBIRDS ARE INCREASING EVERYDAY!!!!!!.....THANKS FOR LOOKING GOOD LUCK BIDDING ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK I WILL DO MY BEST TO ANSWER
