This is a 1981 limited production Trekker produced by Toyota and Winnebago. There were a very limited number of these produced as they are the true first generation "4runner". This car has spent its whole life near Willits, CA where bought new. The neatest thing is that unlike 4x4 1981 Toyota trucks, this one has a factory 5spd transmission instead of 4spd and 22r engine which makes it cruise at freeway speeds more comfortably. It has a solid front axle with warn hubs and could very easily be a green sticker rock, crawler even though the body is very straight. Front driveline was rebuilt a couple years ago by Yodaman of Santa Rosa and 4x4 works as it should. The back half originally had a rear seat and sliding windows along with the passenger seat which folds and slides forward just like the 4runner. This one had been sitting for 11+ years on a ranch and has not seen street use since with the exception of me driving it occasionally, couple hundred miles in the past decade. I ran the carfax to confirm and it has an original 121,xxx miles on it! It starts and drives well, all lights and gauges, brakes, clutch work well, it just needs a restoration, drives very tight like a low mile Toyota should. I bought it planning to do a full restoration to bring it to showroom condition because of the low miles a couple years ago but need to free the space, it is missing the back hatch and needs a little body work to seal and paint the fiberglass but a replacement hatch can be bought from a member on toyotatrekker.com forum who has a fiberglass company. I also got it without a key so the ignition key was pulled out to start off flat head screwdriver. Comes with completed lien packet ready for smog/registration if you just want to drive it as is, could use a tune up also or atleast new spark plugs, wires, air filter but runs and drives fine through all gears and in 4x4 right now.
