Vehicle Detail

1989 Porsche 911 Carrera roller, VIN WPOABO910KS120415, 2nd owner!!! 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera roller, drivetrain not installed and not included in this auction. PLEASE read this entire listing before asking me questions, by doing so you will save both of us time and it will be most appreciated. PERFECT for a “nut and bolt” restoration or whatever else you have in mind: autocross/track/DE/race car build, 3.6 conversion, V-8 conversion, 911 Carrera RS/RSR clone, etc. Basically, it’s a blank slate, an artist’s canvas if you will. Clean GA title in hand. I bought it right here on eBay, from the original owner in PA, with 116k miles in 2006. Maintenance records from 1st owner, copy of original window sticker (list price as delivered $53,037 was in 1989) and owner’s manual, warranty booklet, etc. are included with the sale. I drove it occasionally for 3 or 4 years (until 2009 or 2010, I don’t remember which) without issue for an additional 7k miles. The brake pad wear indicator came on, and my mechanic advised me that the shocks/struts should be replaced. Then the clutch started slipping. So, I had my mechanic pull the drivetrain. My initial plan was to do a “nut and bolt” restoration, so I sent it off to get the engine compartment/underside cleaned up, and started disassembling the sheet metal (“engine tin”) surrounding the engine to send it off for refurbishment/powder coating. Then, I started contemplating a 3.6 conversion, then I started thinking about a V-8 conversion, then I got distracted with other projects and my business kept me real busy…and it’s been sitting ever since. I then stumbled across and purchased another 911 with a 3.6 conversion already done, and then this spring purchased a 911 with a finished V-8 conversion. So, no need to go in either of those directions with this project. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a successful business, have 5 other 911s, and I’ve reluctantly come to the conclusion that I don’t have the time or interest to devote to getting this car back on the road. Too many toys, not enough time. So, time to pass it along… TOTALLY stock, original paint, interior, etc. Factory paint (paint code” S7 Silbermetallic”) and build stickers (showing 158 Reno radio, 243 Shorter gear shift lever, 454 Cruise control, 474 Sport shock absorbers, 490 Hi Fi sound system, 494 Amplifier & speakers on back shelf, 650 Sunroof) intact in original locations, I will send pics of these stickers upon request. Cosmetic issues include a 4” dash crack and a foot long spot on the passenger side fender where some jerk keyed it, both were present when I purchased the car from the original owner (I will send pics of these two areas upon request), and numerous grungy original fasteners. Original Fuchs wheels (8” rear, 6” front) on good (approx. 50% worn) tires. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to request additional pics. The entire STOCK drive train (complete 3.2 engine, G-50 transmission, CV axles, etc) is available separately and I will give the winning bidder “right of first refusal” if he/she wishes to purchase it. If you exercise the “Buy It Now” option I will give you a very attractive price on the complete drivetrain package. I also have replacement clutch parts and brake pads that I’ll be happy to “throw in” to a package deal for everything. Sold “As Is Where Is”, i.e. FOB my driveway -- Canton GA zip 30115 (on the northern edge of suburban Atlanta). $500 non-refundable deposit due via PayPal within 2 days of auction close, if deposit not received in this time frame I will relist the car. Balance of selling price due within 14 days of auction close (cash, certified bank check, wire transfer) or I will relist the car. Check must clear at my bank before I will release the car/title. I will assist with shipping but please be aware that my business keeps me on the road close to 100% during the week so please plan on picking it up on the weekend. Thanks for looking!!!
