Vehicle Detail

Nice example of a correct frame/motor number 1974 CR250m Elsinore. Have had this bike for quite a while and has been in storage at my office for the past three years. Its now time to sell it so I brought it home ,put fresh fuel in it and she fired up in a few kicks. Since this bike was in storage and not ridden for quite a while I took precautionary measures and had my mechanic install new crank seals. The mechanic I use is a 35 year experience vintage 2 stroke mechanic who's expertise is bikes from the 70's & 80's. He suggested that since he was going to go through the motor and change the crank seals that I may as well change all seals and bearings. I took his advice and replaced everything so the new owner would not have to worry about anything. He said the transmission looks brand new. The kick starter does not always return on its own. The mechanic looked it over and did not see anything wrong with it so I suspect it could just be a week spring. Easy fix if you want to install a new spring down the road but works fine for now. When I got the motor back I noticed the intake manifold had some surface cracks so I went ahead and replaced that as well. The motor is beautiful with no leaks or drips. This is a bike you can ride and enjoy or dispplay and over time make it even better. I listed some important details about the bike below. *** Be sure to check out the other items I have listed *** FRAME # - 1014220MOTOR # - 1014662 Motor is fresh, starts, shifts and idles as it should. Frame was repainted by previous owner. Not a bad job. The frame on this bike is in excellent condition. No bent or dented engine cradle tubes or any repairs that I can detect. It still has the kick stand. Brand new DG pipe Kickstarter is in nice condition and clicks into place. Brand new chain guide installed New chain Tank is nice, has a few shallow dents but nothing that looks bad. Stripe was repainted by previous owner. Side covers and fenders were also repainted by previous owner. Not a bad job but the silver on the side covers is slightly darker. looks kind of nice though. Seat is near perfect. close to the best i have seen on one of these. Bike has a brand new after market filter assembly. Fork bottoms were painted by the previous owner. Not something I would have thought of doing but they look kind of cool. Can easily be changed back to natural if thats what you prefer. Tubes do have some minor pitting but seem to be ok. Rear shocks are stock and have dampening, shafts look good and I am pretty sure these shocks are rebuildable as well. There is some play in the swing arm bearings so you may have to replace the brass inserts. Thats pretty common with this bike. I'm pretty sure that DC plastics sells the kit. Rims were in nice shape but the spokes were dull so I had a wheel service breakdown the wheels, sand blast and paint the hubs, ordered new stainless HD spokes and had them laced. This cost over 450 dollars but they look awesome Brand New Pirelli scorpion MC/51M tires installed on the Front & Back rims (165.00) Carb looks excellent inside and out. I do have a new set of tank/ fender warning decals which were not installed when I took the pictures I would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about the bike and to discuss purchase options - 386-956-9037. Thanks for looking. Please note: this is a vintage bike that is over 35 yrs old so there is no warranty with this bike. The new owner will get a Bill of Sale along with a copy of the owners manual, an original brochure and an "Any given Sunday" DVD. SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I dont mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. I do have a pretty good list of shippers I would be happy to pass on to you . PAYMENT: this auction requires a small non-refundable deposit with the balance due within 7 days of the auction ending. I will accept the balance of pament in the following ways-Bank transfer, cash in person, Bank of America cashiers check or USPS money orders. Thanks for looking
