This auction is for a lightly used 1991 Ford Superduty with a Vulcan Equipment Company wrecker body on it. Our shop bought this truck used in late 1993 with a bare frame and had the wrecker body installed in order to tow cars and take our fifth wheel car trailer to auto auctions. We bought the truck with 70,000 miles on it and only ended up putting another 20,000 on it since then as we moved to a flatbed tow truck. This truck has only 90,000 original miles so the bulletproof 7.3 IDI and ZF-5 5 speed manual should last you 3-400,000 more miles, with proper maintenance. This truck has been sitting for about 8 years, all I did was put some used batteries in it and some diesel and she fired right up. I have also changed the fuel filter and put new brake line to the rear of the truck. I put a few miles on it and it runs, drives, stops and shifts like a new truck. The steering and shifter are nice and tight and there are no odd noises when you are going down the road. Something to note is that this truck is not an F-350, this is the SuperDuty chassis which means the frame and suspension are much beefier and instead of having the twin I-beam front suspension it has a straight axle giving you more load capacity and better tread wear on the tires.

The body over all is in nice condition. It has rust, as to be expected. We did our best to display all the blemishes and rust spots. This auction is 'as is' and being sold off of the pictures so please view them all carefully.
The wrecker body was made by the Vulcan Equipment Company and is an 865 model. It has a strapless wheel lift in addition to a boom. The under lift is rated at 3500 lbs lift capacity and 7500 lbs towing capacity while the boom has a 6,000 lb capacity extended and a 20,000 pound capacity not extended and it has a ramsey winch on the boom. This is a very nice body and makes towing a breeze. All the lights on the truck and the bed work, and the pto engages as well. The only issue is that the truck was sitting for so long that the pto idle control is frozen so the idle cannot be raised to engage the hydraulics. If you can free up the idle control this truck will be ready to go and make you or your business some good money. Why buy a new $70,000 truck when you can get this 90,000 mile non-emissions diesel truck for pennies on the dollar.
This truck runs and drives great and with a little work it should be good to go for a couple hundred thousand more miles of work.
