PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. THESE AUCTIONS TAKE TIME AND ENERGY...PLEASE DON'T WASTE MINE OR YOURS. IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 5 FEEDBACKS OR UNDER 90% POSITIVE FEEDBACK YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT ME PRIOR TO THE LAST DAY OF THE AUCTION. NO EXCEPTIONS. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS CAR AND PURCHASING IT, THIS AUCTION WILL GO TO COMPLETION TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. Up for auction is an awesome promotional McDonald's collectible..... the 1969 VW McBuggy!!! NO RESERVE!!! Up for sale from my personal collection is a 1969 Volkswagen “mini T”. This car is the ULTIMATE McDONALD'S COLLECTIBLE!!!! “McBuggy” is the original Volkswagen dune buggy used for Ronald McDonald promotional appearances throughout the greater Los Angeles area during the 1970’s. George Voorhis (see picture with name on original pink slip) would perform the promotional appearances dressed as Ronald McDonald pulling into the various McDonald’s locations in no other than…McBuggy!!! Built in 1969, McBuggy was used by Voorhis throughout the 1970’s. After being purchased and restored in 1994, it has been garage kept/covered and driven only occasionally for show and pleasure. McBuggy consists of a “mini – T” body produced by the Berry Co. mounted on a vintage 36hp VW chassis. It is all original underneath with drum brakes and a non-synchro 4 speed transmission. McBuggy runs and drives great starting with just a turn of the key. The engine runs smoothly and the car drives, shifts and stops as it should (considering its age). The non-synchro transmission requires a little getting used to at first but functions flawlessly. It is running the original 6 volt system so the lights and running lights are very dim. Everything does work including the lights, high beams, speedo, horn, wipers etc. Even the accessory McDonald’s radio works!!! There is a cigarette lighter in the dash that is not hooked up and the turn signals are not hooked up (easy hand signals!). The paint is very clean without scratches or cracking and is very nice driver quality. McBuggy keeps up with traffic in town and will happily cruise along at 50 to 60 mph. I am 6’2” and although it is a little tight getting in, I can drive it without a problem. Please see the link to a video of the car running below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=treuzTJZSOs Aftermarket equipment includes the original red-line posi-traction tires, black/red diamond tuck interior, megaphone exhaust with removable baffles and “McRed” acrylic enamel paint. Other accessories include the Model T motometer, vintage McDonalds French Fry AM-FM radio, the lifelike Ronald McDonald mannequin (waist up) for display and a custom red nylon car cover. Also included is a binder with the original hand painted “McBuggy” license plates, the original pink slip in George Voorhis name, the current vehicle title in my name and various pictures. The car is a 1969 and registered SPCN. The title is set up SMOG EXEMPT for the state of California. It is currently registered street legal until September of 2013. *** This collectible has been priced aggressively and is a serious piece of automotive and McDonald’s history. This is your chance to bid to own a one-of-a-kind McDonald’s collectible at NO RESERVE!!!. It is clean and gets compliments every time I take it out of the garage. All items mentioned above are shown in the included photos. PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU ARE SERIOUS…I AM SERIOUS ABOUT SELLING AND HAVE PRICED McBUGGY VERY FAIRLY….PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU HAVE YOUR FINANACES IN ORDER AND ARE PREPARED TO SET UP PICK-UP OR SHIPPING FOLLOWING THE AUCTION. All shipping arrangements and costs are the buyer’s responsibility. If you have less than 5 feedback or less than 90% positive feedback please contact me before bidding. A $500 paypal deposit is due within 24 hours of auction completion. The remainder can be accepted through cash at pickup, wire transfer or bank/cashiers check. The title will be overnighted to your address with insurance/delivery confirmation once funds clear. Please contact me - Jerry - between 9am and 5pm at 714-393-one333 with any questions.
