I bought this bike as a project from the Montgomery, AL police department. They sold a lot of them on govdeals.com. I bought this one for $5,500 thinking it only needed some clutch work. When you buy something from a government entity, they don't warranty it so you get what you get. I ended up investing a little over $3,500 into it. The bill and the work is in photos. Still, even at that price, it's a great deal for a very fast and quiet bike. But the market will decide the price. This Beamer needs nothing. You can ride it to California and back. When I delivered it to the Bloodworth BMW Motorcycle dealership in Nashville, TN, I told them to make it like new again. With the exception of the body, it is completely updated on the inside. I did all of the recommended work plus some. The bill is viewable in my photos. The seat is original and so are the plastic pieces that I had painted. This bike was never wrecked or dropped. Montgomery decided to get different motorcycles for their city based on a BMW service center being closer to them. I wish I could tell you more about the technical aspects, but I am just not fluent in motorcycle. It runs very fast and doesn't miss a beat. The clutch is perfect as is the driveshaft. It shifts and runs very smoothly. I own it outright. There is no loan. It's fun, but I'm just not as courageous as I once was when I rode a bike in college. Then I had a 1969 BMW R60. I really don't need this motorcycle and since it is perfect now, there is no sense in my keeping it from a new owner that will enjoy this great bike or years to come. So the auction starts at only $1. I am also selling this bike locally. So I may end the auction early if it sells. Locally I have it listed for $8,200. If my eBay auction gets above $7,200, I will let it go to auctions end and will stop the local sale. I am willing to ship it anywhere in the country and I will help you with uShip (great way to ship motorcycles) or the carrier of your choosing.
