Vehicle Detail
1979 Porsche 911SC Euro roller, VIN 9119300858, 99 cent starting price!!!!!!!!! European/ROW model roller, no sunroof, roll up windows, no engine/transmission/headlights. PERFECT for a track/DE/race car build. Also suitable for a V-8 conversion or 911 Carrera RS/RSR clone. No title (in GA you can’t get a replacement title when the original title has been lost), currently registered in GA and will be sold with a Bill of Sale. Actual mileage unknown as previous owner said speedometer was working sporadically. This “plain Jane” (no sunroof, no power windows, no fog lights, vinyl seats, manual roll up windows, etc.) is the LIGHTEST and therefore potentially the FASTEST 911, depending of course on what kind of engine you decide to install. My original plans for it were to make it into a DE car, but reality has intruded – I’ve been fortunate enough to have a successful business, have 6 other 911s, and I’ve reluctantly come to the conclusion that I don’t have the time to devote to seeing this DE project through to completion, not to mention not having enough spare time to get it to the track once it’s built. Too many toys, not enough time. So, time to pass it along… Bilstein green “Sport” shocks/struts, Ronal 7” (front) and 8” (rear) wheels (need refinishing) on junk tires (signs of dry rot but still hold air), brakes from an ’89 911 Carrera, appears to have been painted several times (can’t tell original color), paint quality OK with the exception of one 2 – 3” crack/chip on driver’s side rear fender, interior OK but certainly not show quality, NO RUST. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to request additional pics. If you’re interested, I also have a KILLER drive train available that would be EXCELLENT for this car, a late 964 3.6 (2% leak down, lightweight plastic (instead of the earlier, heavier metal version) factory intake manifold, complete including correct wiring harness and sheet metal “engine tin” for installation into this car) w/915 transmission, an aftermarket air intake elbow, K & N air filter, and a stainless steel B & B header/muffler setup. If the winning bidder doesn’t want the aftermarket CD/radio/speakers that are presently installed , I will remove them and take $100 off the final selling price. Sold “As Is Where Is”, i.e. FOB my driveway -- Canton GA zip 30115 (on the northern edge of suburban Atlanta). $500 non-refundable deposit due via PayPal within 2 days (48 hours) of auction close, if deposit not received in this timeframe I will relist the car. Balance of selling price due within 14 days of auction close (cash, certified bank check, wire transfer) or I will relist the car. I will assist with shipping but please be aware that my business keeps me on the road close to 100% during the week so please plan on picking it up on the weekend. Thanks for looking!!! On Jun-02-13 at 21:58:43 PDT, seller added the following information: I just realized that I neglected to mention that the B & B header setup has heater boxes, so the heater/defroster can be made fully functional. I personally think it's nuts to build a hot rod air cooled Porsche without a heater/defroster, and am surprised by the number of people who do so. The B & B header setup on the engine is the one listed in the current Automotion (Eckler's) catalog for close to $3000 new. I also forgot to mention that I have a BRAND NEW Guard 915 limited slip differential that could be included in the engine/tranny deal. On Jun-02-13 at 22:24:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Lots of questions regarding how the 964 3.6 engine I have available compares to the 96 - 98 993 "Vario Ram" engine. The factory BHP rating for the 964 was 247 BHP and for the 993 "V-R was 282 BHP in the US. What I have seen on the internet (www.instant-g.com, for example) is that the 964 had a very restrictive stock exhaust and MOST of the 993 V-R's rated horsepower gain over the 964 was due to the very efficient header-style exhaust on the 993 V-R. Also, the 993 has the factory's "Drive Block" anti-theft programmed into it and it must be programmatically removed when using the 993 engine in an earlier car. So, even though I've never had the opportunity to "dyno" the 964 engine in question, I think it's reasonable to assume that it's 10 - 15 BHP down on a comparably "chipped" 993 "V-R, somewhere in the neighborhood of close to 300 BHP. The most BHP I've seen claimed for a "chipped" 993 V-R is 315 BHP, but I think that one had some expensive cylinder head work done to achieve that BHP output. On Jun-03-13 at 07:42:12 PDT, seller added the following information: To further clarify, the present aftermarket "chip" installed in the ECM is either a Cyntex or an Autothority, I forget which, done 8 +/- years ago.
