Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Here is a nice example of a 1969 Honda SL350 KO, bought new in California and brought to the dry-climate of Colorado in 2000. It has traveled 8900 miles since new. The prior owner worked at a Honda dealership and kept this bike for years as his personal, classic bike. Since being located in Colorado, it has been stored inside and ridden only occasionally around the neighborhood. This model (KO) is also is equipped with 12v electric starter-the later SL350 K1 bikes only have kick starters. This bike started out as a very nice survivor bike but needing some attention to the paint. Being 44 years old, we have gone through this bike carefully, preserving as much of its originality as possible. It’s extremely clean and has original paint on the frame. The correct candy sapphire blue paint was obtained from Randy Marble. If you know anything about these Hondas, he is THE expert on restoration of these bikes. The stunningly deep and beautiful paint and correct white tank stripe was applied by True Kustoms motorcycle paint shop in Denver. Look closely, the fuel tank, side covers, and fenders are stunning. This bike could have been 'restored' but I chose to keep as much of the original patina on this bike as possible. As they say, they are only original once. The parts that stick out to me that have beautiful patina are the handlebars, switches, motor, and other metal surfaces. By no means does this mean they are rusty or pitted, far from it. The vintage aluminum and chrome just has a look of age to it that cannot be duplicated without 44 years of life. The chrome, though not new, shines nicely in the sun, including the spokes, wheels, handlebars. While the blue paint is new and correct, the remaining parts were just cleaned up, preserving its history. It should be noted that the nuts, screws and bolts on this bike appear to have not been turned by anyone other than a professional mechanic. I have not seen any rounded, stripped or damaged hardware. The wiring has not been tapped into or altered. With the exception of the very bottom surface (minor rust is visible but only very minor), the fuel tank is very clean and did not require lining it. The gauges, lights, and electric starter function as expected. This is a 12 volt system, powered by a new battery installed in May 2013. Both tires were replaced with street tires with vintage correct 1969 tread patterns. I realize that this bike came originally with trials tires but it’s really very much more suited to keeping it on the street. The prior owner in CA only used it on the road and had street tires on it when I got it. I can’t imagine how it was to actually ride this bike in the dirt (it certainly is too nice to ride in the dirt now). The carburetors have been gone through, cleaned, and set up by a local expert. It starts instantly with the starter or if you need some exercise, it will start with one kick and will idle nicely. It runs great! The lights work as designed. It’s ready to RIDE! This bike gets a lot of attention around the neighborhood. It has that classic, throaty, unmistakable Honda 350 sound. The side pipes are complete, not rusty, and even still have the chrome side protectors on them. Don’t forget, this bike gets around 50mpg. I have sold may other vintage bikes and parts on Ebay and can recommend a shipper if you need one. Shipping one of these across country is a very easy task. I will offer local pickup or possible delivery (negotiable-contact me). I have described the bike as true and accurate as I can. I want you to ask me questions or ask for specific photos. I want you to be happy with your purchase. Please check out my Ebay rating (100% satisfaction).
