Vehicle Detail

This is a nice Citrus 1st gen Insight with only 71,000 miles (most likely when it sells). It drives like a brand new car. This is the 5 speed version "without a/c" so is the top mileage car of all hybrids, even the current ones. If you want to add air-conditioning it is easy to do but it will cost you a few miles per gallon once added. There are parts sellers for the 1st Gen Insight right here on Ebay that can sell you the system. This car can get 75 miles per gallon if driven efficiently. I've been able to acheive 64 miles per gallon which is just amazing. There are no rips in the seats and overall the car is nice. I don't smoke. I also don't eat while driving so the interior is clean. There are no accidents and the car has a clean title. I took a photo of the corner of the passenger rear area as it is rippled a bit, no scratches just slightly bumped into. A bodyshop told me they could use a heatgun to form it back into shape but then I'd have to repaint the bumper so I said no it does not bother me. It is not that noticeable. It has the recommended Bridgestone Potenza tires with 40% tread left. It is fun to "hypermile" this car. There are plenty of tips and videos on how to do this on the internet. There is even one person on the internet who achieved 108 miles per gallon. These cars rise in value about $500 per year as gas prices go up. After you buy it you will most likely never sell. This color is the most rare of all 4 colors. This car is much better than any Prius. I find it odd that Prius owners usually never drive more than themselves. They have 3 more seats that never get used that they are paying gas to cart around. I'd rather get 20 miles more per gallon than the 4 door Prius with this 2 door Insight. The Insight is lite as it is made of aluminum. It only weighs 2300 pounds which is close to 1/2 of what a Prius ways. You will love it. No other hybrid will beat this gas mileage past or present. The gen 1 insight is still the king. Here is the proof: http://www.motherearthnews.com/green-transportation/miles-per-gallon-cars-zb0z11zblon.aspx Here is a MotorTrend article about a 1st Gen Homecoming which was fun to attend: http://wot.motortrend.com/honda-hosts-earth-day-event-firstgen-insight-homecoming-in-california-4733.html#axzz2RhRILpmq And here is an article about a couple who camped with this car and had plenty of room for gear. http://www.insightcentral.net/owners/stories/story00062501.html My hybrid battery works perfectly, charges, autostop works, with no codes of anykind. If by chance the hybrid battery ever gave out on this car you just switch it off (using the on off switch) and continue driving. You can still get 40 miles per gallon without the hybrid battery. With a Prius if the battery goes out you are stuck wherever that happens. This might really stink if you are on a long road trip. If you like this car just "buy-it-now". It will be a collector's item soon but will still be a daily driver. I just get a sense of satisfaction as I drive down the road knowing I get better gas mileage than 100% of everyone else driving next to me. The only car that beats it is the Chevy Volt but that is a $50,000 car, yikes! I am a small car dealer here in Orange County California and love these cars. I drive a Silver Insight. I sold my Blue one here on Ebay a few weeks ago and shipped it to Oregon so let me know if you need help with shipping. If you do live in California I will have to collect sales tax but I can do the dmv for you for free. (Even with a private party you still pay sales tax by the way). I can even pick you up at LAX, John Wayne SNA, or Ontario International airports if you want to fly to Southern California and you can drive home. It would make a nice road trip/vacation. At an average of lets say 60+ miles per gallon you can literally drive to Florida for $180 in gas. You can fly to me for less than $100 if you book a few weeks out. I can easily store the car for up to 1 month if needed. Please email me through Ebay if you have any ?'s at all.
