Vehicle Detail
Good, mostly original 1976 Honda XR75 minibike. This is what seems to be a fairly low hour machine that currently operates real nice, and would be a great candidate for restoration. Great condition, as it sits, if you just want one of these as a rider. Motor is tight, with no rattle or smoke, and clutch action and shifting are excellent. Brakes and cables are good. Cosmetics are reasonable, with good potential to make better without spending a whole lot of money. Bike has some rust on most surfaces as seen in pics. I tryed to show bikes true condition in my pics instead of trying to make glamour shots that just flatter without showing flaws and such. Original tank paint, original seat cover, and pretty nice original pipe, all on bike. I did paint the pipe, but not any other part of bike. Painted pipe, because I had it off to make a small weld repair in normal area where rust out begins at exhaust pipe at beginning of muffler section. Repair was on spot about half inch long that was beginning to rust through. Shoud be solid now, for a good while. Repair is not in a visible area unless you are looking for it. Tank has rust inside, and needs treated. Non original parts look to me to be rear tire, side covers, airbox to carb boot, and maybe these fenders are aftermarket. Fenders look to have been on bike for a long time, and I am not familiar enough to make a judgement on whether they are original Honda parts or not. I put the plastic side covers on it, because it was missing those pieces when I bought it. Airbox boot was also missing, and I fashioned one from a early xr100. It seals completely and works fine. Does look to me like previous owner put a dab of something on what was probably a pin hole leak in bottom of tank. It is about the size of a pencil eraser, and does not leak or weep now. Should be no problem if inside of tank is lined, as needs to be done anyway to insure no problems with the rust that is there. There is rust on rims, that I cleaned, but left pits that can be seen in pics. Few light rust pits on forks. Leaks a little oil from valve cover gasket. I have not tryed to address this. Like I said, not a restored cream puff, like it sits, but a good little bike that needs a little tlc. Tires are old, and dry cracked. They both hold air, and I have been riding bike for a month or so without issues. It cranks on first kick, and functions very well. Look closely at pics, and ask questions, as I dont want any doubt for the new owner. Let me know if you want a pic of any area that I didnt include. No title with this. Sold with bill of sale. I require $200 paypal deposit within 48 hours and remainder in cash, bank or certified check. Will hold bike for a few weeks for shipper to pick up, or might meet buyer if they are in southeast. Ask questions and make arrangements regarding shipping and such before end of auction. Thanks for your interest, and good luck.
