Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1972 Triumph TR-6 with all the rare and hard to find options. This car is purported to be a numbers matching car. I have done my research online and believe it to be so but you would need to do your own research to ensure that is the case. The vin / commission number is CC 82965 U, production date June 1972, engine number is CC 82971 UE, body tag #1 is 75832 CC, body tag #2 is 04196 C, paint code is number 96 " Sapphire Blue" and the trim number is 27 " Shadow Blue". Please go to the Heritage-Motor-Centre.co.uk or the International Triumph TR Registry to verify my research as I make no guarantees about this. If you get a Heritage Certificate the value of this car will soar. Options: This car has all the rare options including a factory steel hard top ( has a black soft top as well ), over-rider bumpers, 72 spoke painted steel wire wheels ( last year for this option on TR-6's ) and the ever so rare factory overdrive transmission ( works great in 3rd and 4th gears ). And with a Heritage Certificate showing that this is the way she came from the factory would make this one of the rarest TR-6's out there. Mechanicals: The engine starts right up with no smoke, ticks, rattles or shaking. I let the car idle yesterday in the drive for nearly two hours and she held good oil pressure ( right at 55 lbs ) and did not over heat. The engine is the tightest I have ever seen! I have never found a single drop of fluid anywhere under the car and I would know as I have a painted garage floor. The transmission works well with no noises and shifts up and down through all the gears. The clutch peddle is a bit weak but the clutch does not slip. The peddle is a bit down due to lack of use and it was low on fluid when I got the car( needs a good bleeding I think ). The brakes are a bit weak and need bleeding also. I have only driven the car about 20 miles to check her out and the overdrive worked very well in both 3rd and 4th gears with no issues. The car was just serviced with new plugs, wires, distributor cap, air filters, oil change and all fluids / coolant topped off. The engine bay appears to very original and the car still has the factory oil filter system. Electrical's: All gauges appear to be working, head lights work, wipers work, blower fan works, brake lights work and license plate lights work. I have not gotten around to the other lights but will try to due so this week and post an update on the auction when I know more. Interior: The interior looks to be all original so it will need to be redone due to its age and condition ( see photos ). The wood dash looks to be in very good condition. Exterior: All the chrome looks to be in good serviceable condition ( see photos ). Yes as you can see the car has rust issues. The front floor boards are shot. Please look at all the photos so you understand all the rust areas. I'm not an expert but the frame looks good and serviceable to me. The car still sit nicely on the ground with no major sagging or leaning issues ( see photos ). Misc: The car does come with a Shadow Blue top cover, spare wire wheel ( needs a tire ) and jack. The car also comes with a spare passengers door that has had one small repair to the front lower leading edge and is primed and ready for sanding and paint. Victoria British LTD listed a replacement door at $999. Title: I listed the title as "other" for the following reason. The title I have is a Maryland state issued ( issued 04/16/2012 ) one that has been signed by the person it was issued to and the person I got it from. I believe you could say its a "clear" title" but you would need to check with your states DMV to be sure. I can send a scanned copy of the title to you if you want ( just email your request ) so you can check with your DMV prior to bidding. In closing let me just say that while the car does have rust she does run and drive and all of the rare factory options make it something special. And if you get a Heritage Certificate this would be one of the most highly sought after Triumph TR-6's out there. I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. If you need to have the car shipped to your location you can get a free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/ .The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Ronex shipping for free quotes. Please know that listing this car on E-bay is not cheap so you are bidding to purchase the car and must have funds available at auctions end. On May-16-13 at 06:22:04 PDT, seller added the following information: All- I have received emails regarding the vin number and the factory overdrive. The vin tag on the inside of the drivers door reads: CC 82965 UO. I'm told the "O" verifies the car was produced with an overdrive transmission. The mils are correct and when the title was issued in 2002 the mileage on the title reads 95981. Also, I do have 22 photos of the underbody and will send those out upon request.
