Vehicle Detail
Hello. This is a NO RESERVE listing! Up for auction is my 1977 LTD Country Squire station wagon. It is an original unrestored “survivor” car with 50,283 original miles. It runs and drives great! It has a 400 cubic inch V8 engine and automatic transmission. The rear end is a factory posi traction unit with disc brakes. The brakes and shocks have all been replaced within the last 1000 miles and I just had the oil changed 2 weeks ago, so it would be ready to go for the summer driving season. The tires are all season Michelin tires with 75% tread left. I got this car last year with 2 others I really wanted in a package deal for my collection. I knew full well I would not have the space to keep this one long term, so now that spring is here and the cars are not packed tight for winter storage, it’s time for a new home. The only thing I have done cosmetically is wash and vacuum the car. I have not detailed, polished, power washed the engine or touched up anything. I want the new owner to see it exactly as I got it, and let them decide what, if anything, they wanted to do to it. The car is originally from Florida and has the original owner’s manual and window sticker as well as several maintenance receipts. It is equipped with power steering, power brakes, cruise control, delay wipers, and A/C. The A/C does not have a belt on it, however I did verify the compressor turns and is not locked up. It has a rear storage compartment in the back (not the jump seats) and the tailgate is the dual opening version that either opens like a tailgate or swings open like a door. I did have the rear power window motor repaired (it moved VERY slowly when I got it) and it operates as it should either by the switch on the dash or by the key in the tailgate. The original roof rack is complete with the adjustable cross bars and rear wind deflector. The headlight doors operate perfectly and do not creep open when the car is parked like many do. The jack, and a full size spare are present as well. The interior is in excellent condition for the age as seen in the pictures. There are no tears in the seats or carpets, and the door panels are nice as well. The dash is great with only 1 very, very thin crack that you can only see if the light is just right on the passenger side. It is definitely not a dry sun crack as the dash is still flexible, it honestly looks like something bumped it at one time. I’m probably being over critical, but it’s there. The body is in good condition for its age as well, however does have a few small rust spots here and there along with the normal dings, chips, nicks and scratches you would expect on a 35 year old car. The main (darker) wood grain is in good overall condition with no faded panels but does have small areas here and there showing age. The lighter “wood” trim pieces around it have several spots where the clear laminate has peeled away and you can see that in the pictures. Overall, this is a great unrestored “driver” condition car that you could enjoy as is and take to cruise-ins and such, or if you wish, it is a good solid candidate if you want to do a full restoration, your choice. Mechanically, there is a slight exhaust leak at the left exhaust manifold gasket. It is not noticeable just sitting there idling in park, you only hear it when you are accelerating like leaving a stop sign and don’t notice it once you are cruising at speed. I have recently taken it on a 200 mile trip with no issues. Feel free to fly in and drive it home if you wish. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of auction close, and full payment is due within 3 business days. I accept only certified funds or bank wire transfer for payment. I can store the car for up to 2 weeks at no charge, beyond that would need to be discussed and agreed upon. Shipping, if you choose, is the sole responsibility of the buyer, however I will be happy to be available to meet your shipper of choice. If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks, you must contact me before bidding or risk your bid being cancelled. International bidders welcome, please contact me if you wish to bid from outside the US. I have clear title in hand in my name ready for transfer. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I’ll get you and answer. Again this is a NO RESERVE listing and the highest bidder will own this great wagon! Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!
