Vehicle Detail
Bought a new car, so this one has to go. I am selling this car AS IS for parts or possible restoration – it is not drivable in its current condition. The brakes are seized, and the wheels do not turn. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY! I cannot deliver or ship this item – all cost and arrangements for transporting the vehicle are the responsibility of the buyer. I will do my best to accurately describe the condition of the car, but if you have any further questions, feel free to message me. The Good: -This is a 2-owner car that was lovingly treated throughout its life. I bought it from the original owners, who kept records of everything they did, down to the last light bulb and fuse (I still have these records). -Body is in pretty decent shape, considering its age. There are a few rust spots, as you can see in the pictures. -Nice aluminum rims -Before parking the car, the following parts were replaced with new ones: -starter motor -radiator -transmission (replaced at 320,000km – new tranny has less than 10,000km) -fuel pump -spark plugs -distributor -fuel filter -air filter -oil/filter -Fuel economy is an incredible 45-50mpg! -Car started last time it was tried (4 years ago) -Interior is in reasonable shape (and a gorgeous plaid!) -Windows work well-Rear windshield wiper works -It's made in Japan! -No need for an emissions test – it's a classic! The Bad: -Car was parked 6 years ago semi-indoors (in the back part of a barn, covered by a tarp, 90% dry) -Driver's seat is broken, feels like a piece of the metal frame inside is snapped) -Rear left wheel is on a very slight inward angle due to a misaligned rear suspension control arm (I drove the car like this for over 100,000km, and it was never a problem) -Head gasket is leaking – may need to be replaced -Gear shift linkage is completely worn – shifting gears is a bit tricky. The car passed a safety inspection with the linkage like this, so I never bothered to fix it. -The tires are not very old, but they've been sitting for 6 years in changing weather conditions, so they probably need to be replaced. -The struts for the fastback are worn out; they only work in the summertime -The rear bumper is not attached -The brakes are seized on all four wheels The Ugly: -Frame is rusty; some spots are rusted through. -Previous repair to the rear axle where rust had eaten away the mounting bracket for the rear suspension arm -Rust in the front right frame where the front suspension control arm meets the frame; needs to be welded -There is a lot of rust on the underside of the car Look at the pictures, ask questions, and bid with confidence. I don't want this car to go the wreck yard; it has too much personality! Before bidding, please understand: -This is an AS-IS sale -The car is NOT RUNNING/MOVING -YOU, the buyer, are responsible for removing the vehicle from its current location. You will need a flatbed truck with a winch, or a trailer and some way to get the car onto the trailer On 29-Apr-13 at 16:04:29 EDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: The car is located near Perth, Ontario - not Toronto, as the listing says.
