Vehicle Detail
Here is a 1969 Pontiac Firebird coupe project car. This Firebird has the original numbers matching drive train. It has the original 350/265HP engine, with an automatic transmission. It is the original color, Carousel Red, and looks like it was repainted once a long time ago. The interior is the original Parchment, with bucket seats and console. The car has power steering and an aftermarket radio, but the original AM radio is included. The engine and transmission were rebuilt some years ago and the engine runs well. This firebird has rust in the typical places, with the worst of it being that it needs a passenger side floor pan, and a passenger side rear shock tower, please see the pictures. The rear lower quarters were replaced years ago and it looks like they did a good job of it. As can be seen in the pictures, it has rust in the fenders and doors. The driver’s floor looks good and the trunk pan looks good. There is rust through in the outer rocker panel covers, but the rest of the rockers appear to be solid. The rear frame rails look good. Under the rear seat is good also. The interior will need a headliner, carpet, package tray, ignition lock, seat covers, and other misc. items. The dash pad is good. All seat belts are intact. This car had been sitting a long time, and had not run in about 5 years. The car is now running and moves forward and backwards, but has very little brakes. I have driven the car up and down my driveway. The car was running off its original gas tank, but then quit, so it is now running off a small substitute tank. The starter acts a bit funny, but the engine runs well with no smoking or weird noises. All the lights work, the horn works, and the windshield wipers work. The windshield has a couple of stone chips that may or may not be repairable. All the other glass is good. There is a set of extra hubcaps and some spare parts in the trunk. The jack is included. The trunk and passenger side door open and close fine. The driver’s door needs new hinge pins and bushings and there is a new parts kit in the trunk for that repair. With the replacement of the passenger side floor pan, shock tower, and a few other details, this could quickly be made in to a good driver that you could finish as you drive. It is a good, solid, original car for restoration. The original owners manual is included, along with some misc. papers and receipts for past service, and the engine rebuild. The Carousel Red exterior and parchment interior is a very nice combination. This car has a good, clear, Maryland title in my name. If you would like to come see the car, you are quite welcome. Please look at the pictures carefully and ask any questions you might have. This vehicle is being sold as is, with no guaranties or warranties.
