Vehicle Detail
This is a 1969 Honda cl450 K2 scrambler. I have a clear ohio title for this bike in my name. I bought this bike from the first owner about 2 years ago. I was going to do more with it but never got to it. The way you see it is how I bought it. The only thing I did to this bike is put gas in it and fire it up. The motorcycle looks pretty nice for a bike thats over 40 and never had a restore. I was told when I bought it that it ran fine. I found that to be true. It did start easy after I put a new battery in it. It ran down the road good and shifted great. I did not run it mush because i did not know if it would let by the road side. But it did not. It did not run 100% . It would idle high then after a time it would idle down to the right rpm. Then when I started it later that day it seem to idle very slow rpm then stall. At higher rpm's it has good power and is fine but at idle it seems to do whatever it feels like. The bike seems to start right up cold or warm. Kick or button. I am sure a tune up would be needed on this bike. The paint and chrome is pretty good shape for a bike this old. Bars are not bent. the bike just looks to be in good shape. The tank is shinny clean and no real dents. Some very small dents when you look close. The bike looks to be very complete for the year. Got the honda air filters, not them pod filters you see out there. Switchs all look good. Turn signals work good. gauges all work. horn works. brakes work good. The lights work but the low beam is burned out. Tires hold air but thats about it, they need replaced. I saw the screws on the alt cover is hacked up. And the right mirror mount is broken. All cables are free and working fine. The fork boots are bad. I did not see any fuel or oil leaks. In short it a good old vintage honda that going to need a looking over. You do not see this style of cl450 that often, in this shape. I think you could go ether way on this old honda , restore it, or tune it and ride as it is. The exhaust is in nice shape. There is no holes or any real rust. A good solid exhaust that looks great. The front exhaust shield is loose for some reason. Just keep in mind this is a old bike that needs some work. I am not a motorcycle expert. So ask me any questions you may have. Thanks
