1962 Corvair Rampside (pickup) .... For Sale.... $7500.00 You're bidding on a 1962 Corvair Rampside pickup. Original California truck.... Rust free (except on the lower tailgate seam.) No rust anywhere else I can find. Engine has less than 1000 miles since it was rebuilt in September 2010. Engine is an FC, 1962 or 63, 145 cid, 102hp, 9:1 compression, 516 heads late top cover, early diff, 3.55 gears, 1964 transmission (four speed.) Engine has run on Bran Penn 10w-30 since rebuild. This truck starts every time and can be driven anywhere. The mechanics have been completely done. All that's left is the body /paint and cosmetics! The list of things that have been done in the past three years is too long to list but they include: New Diamondback tires ( 2 1/2" WW). New Spare tire. New AM-FM radio, speakers and amplifier. New gauges, including dual temp heat gauge. New windshield and gasket. New gas shocks. New brake shoes and cylinders, front and rear. New brake master cylinder and brake hoses. New battery. New Pertronix ignition (no more points). New ignition wires. New coil springs (now cut). New axel bearings. New U-joints. New muffler, tailpipe, and cross over pipe. New A frame bushings. New yoke seals. New day/night mirror. New license plate lights. NOS lenses for tail lights and parking lights. New main body wiring harness and engine harness. New electric fuel pump. New glove box liner. New blower bearing and hub. New kill switch for fuel pump, etc. Carburetors rebuilt by Wolf. Four way flasher. Powder-coated rims (red.) Chrome bumpers. Truck is keyed correctly (ignition and both doors on one key and a separate key for the glove box.) Truck is lowered (two coils cut from the front and one coil from the rear.) The body lines are very straight and needs minimal body work and paint. It was originally red, then on blue re-spray and now is in multi-colored gray primers. Previous owner cut some louvers into the left quarter. Battery box needs to be straightened out. There is bondo in the top of the side gate and also around the right rear wheel well opening, where it needs minor bodywork. Several screw holes need to be filled (were for mirror supports.) Heater is not connected. Odometer has stopped working. Included in this sale are a couple of boxes of Corvair parts which include spare handles/latches for the bed, the original grill bar and a New Rampside protector rubber from Clarks. This truck starts every time, is happy on the freeway and can be driven anywhere. The mechanics are all done and I've left the body and paint for the very lucky winner of this very hard to find classic rust free Chevrolet Corvair Rampside Pickup.
