This is one of the cleanest Caddy's, or any VW from that era for that matter, that you will find in the New England area. It spent most of its life in New Mexico, then was transported across the country sometime in the last 5 years. The body is in extremely good shape; it has an undercoating and has no bad spots to speak of. The engine is seized, but salvageable for an estimated $1k from a local VW shop. Needs a new head & timing belt at the least. This vehicle is a great candidate for a full restoration and is a true "survivor". Highlights include:- No rust. The body has an undercoating and the body, chassy, towers, etc. are clean and look almost factory new.- Completely new brakes (rotors, calipers, pads) and some replaced lines.- New alternator, radiator, and battery.- Clutch is tight and transmission shifts well.- Cap works great, no major leaks, locks on the rear door work. Major issues:- The aforementioned seized engine block.- Vinyl dash shows sun damage (cracks etc.) Has a carpet cover that looks and functions well.- Passenger side door lock doesn't work.- No horn (probably just a broken wire somewhere)- Custom CD/MP3/Ipod deck is installed in the glove compartment; I did this for a couple reasons (mostly theft prevention). It's not normal but it sounds good!- Driver's side seat doesn't move (handle/release needs some attention). All sales final, buyer arranges and pays shipping, serious bids only please.
