Vehicle Detail

Restoration finished March 2012. This is not a matching #’s car, but is extremely clean and rust free 45 year old car. The previous owner had the car for 38 years and started the restoration in 1999. The car was stored indoors for most of its life and driven short distances every few weeks during the 12 year restoration. The odometer reads 87,287 miles. This car could be a great daily driver, or make appearances car shows or the track. It looks, runs, and sounds great. Under the hood is a powerful 396 big block coupled to a clutch turbo 400 with 3:73 gears in the rear. A local body shop sanded the car down, touched up imperfections, primed it, added 2 coats of high end Hugger Orange, painted the stripe, and clear coated it. The engine compartment is painted satin black. Here is what you are looking at: · 396 Big Block (Originally from a 69 Chevelle at 325 HP) · Solid cam · Holley Double Pumper (~750 CFM) · Hooker headers with side exhaust · Fairbanks Turbohydramatic 400 (aka Turbo 400) transmission (clutch turbo 400) · 3 Speed Semi automatic (clutch for 1st and reverse only. Fairbanks converted the torque converter at the factory to a clutch.) · 12 Bolt Rear with 3:73 gears & Strange axel · Traction bars and sub frame connectors · Tachometer, Oil pressure, water temperature, fuel pressure, voltage, and ampere gauges There are so many new items that I may forget to list something but here goes: · New headliner, carpet, dash pad, rear deck cover, & glove box liner · New weather-strip, window fuzzies, front bumper, rocker molding, etc. · New hood insulation, trunk mat, and emblems · New fuel pump, new fuel line, and new carburetor · Replaced all freeze plugs with brass plugs on engine · New alternator, voltage regulator, battery, and ignition · New front tires (195-75-14) & rear tires (275-60-15) · New sway bar connectors · Professionally rebuilt rear · 2 new brake cylinders, 2 rebuilt brake cylinders, and new master cylinder. I didn’t take short cuts on anything I touched on this car and used several shops in the area for specialty work such as pulling the engine and replacing freeze plugs, rebuilding the rear, installing and tuning the carb, painting, etc. This car has a lot of curb appeal and runs great. I believe in being honest so here is my list of items that still need to be done. I need to order a ratio adapter to get the speedometer to read correctly for the gearing ($75 from PATC). There is a very small oil drip. The front windshield has a 3” crack that was repaired and fine (new windshield installed quote $283). Radio does not work, small amp, speakers and MP3 jack were installed for tunes. Heater does not work. Windshield washer works, but is disconnected at the moment as the tubing interfered with the new carburetor linkage, need to re-route tubing. That’s all I can think of. The car is really ready to go. The car is being sold as-is, where-is. You make shipping arrangements if you are not local. The car is registered as an antique in PA. Obtaining antique status is not that easy in PA. You can always register it as Classic or a general tag. Insurance costs me $204 a year as an antique car and inspection is not required. There is no way that I listed everything about this car, so please ask questions and I will do my best to answer your questions. It pains me to sell the car as it is an awesome car. I am looking for a $250 deposit and a game plan for pick-up within a couple days of the auction ending. I can work with you on timing for actual pick-up and/or title transfer, just talk to me and I can be flexible. Note that the car is listed locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early if reserve has not been met.
