Vehicle Detail
2000 Ford F-550 Powerstroke 7.3L 4x4 Conversion Here is a great opportunity to own a beautiful Ford F-550 4x4 Conversion with the legendary 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel engine! This extremely rare southern truck is in excellent condition. It features XLT Lariat trim and a beautiful Thoroughbred Hauler Eclipse Conversion with custom leather seating, interior appointments, and solid aluminum western hauler bed. Exterior: Body panels are in excellent shape, with very few noticeable dings or dents. Molded fiberglass running boards feature courtesy step-lighting and slip-resistant step surfaces. The front includes a billet grille, bug shield, and a chrome brush guard with Hella headlights that have not yet been powered. The western hauler bed features locking toolboxes with interior lighting, locking spare tire compartment, and polished aluminum diamond plate decking. The fiberglass headache rack is complete with new brake, turn signal, and reverse lights (these also function as rear deck floodlights). There are occasional surface imperfections on the bed and headache rack, such as clear-coat flaking and chipped/peeling paint. All rear lights are new (brake, turn signal, reverse, flood, and running lights), as are the 7-RV blade vehicle connectors. The center of the bed features standard slotted hitch rails for a Fifth-Wheel Hitch or Gooseneck hitch plate. A frame-mounted fold-down gooseneck ball is centered between the hitch rails. The Reese AR-20K Air-ride Fifth-Wheel hitch is included. Interior: The front captain chairs feature brand new leather seating areas and armrests. The flooring and seats are in prime condition, as are other interior panels. The rear seat is a power sliding sofa; the seat-back folds down flat into a bed. Interior appointments include glossy simulated wood dash panel and door panel trim; solid wood center console with beverage holders, storage compartment, and CB mount; solid wood overhead console with reading light and mood light switches; polished stainless steel door sill plates; deluxe rear-view mirror with compass and ambient air temperature reading; tinted rear window and door windows. All power windows and door locks are in good working order. A pillar-mount quad-gauge pod features the following: Temperature Gauge, with toggle switch to show either transmission oil or engine oil temperature; Boost gauge; Pyrometer [for pre-turbo exhaust temperature]; and a 6-position performance chip by DP Tuner. Mechanical: The Powerstroke diesel engine starts quickly and runs smoothly (Powerstroke tuners may wish to know that this engine was manufactured with forged metal connecting rods). It has been well-maintained, with an AMSOIL bypass oil filtration system installed since it was new (see link below). Transmission shifts are firm. The transmission cooler has been upgraded to a "Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Transmission Cooler", which enables the synthetic transmission oil temperature to remain well below 180 degrees even during heavy towing. The "extreme-duty" 4-wheel drive system features manual locking hubs and a manual-shift transfer case, which works flawlessly as it should. The 6-position performance chip has been programmed with these settings: (0) Stock [unplugged]; (1) High Idle [stock]; (2) Economy [+80 HP]; (3) Towing [+40 HP]; (4) Towing [+60 HP]; (5) Extreme [+120 HP]. A "Transfer-Flow" fuel system with digital monitor has been installed, which includes an auxiliary 34-gallon OEM tank with automatic fuel transfer achieving a 74-gallon total fuel capacity. Using the toggle-switch-activated BD engine exhaust brake effectively minimizes brake pad wear on the heavy-duty 4-wheel-disc-brake system. Recent service includes front hub replacement, wheel alignment, alternator replacement, 875CCA batteries, and an engine oil change using AMSOIL with REV-X oil additive. Each tank of fuel is treated with REV-X fuel treatment. There are less than 20,000 miles on the six Continental HSR/HDR "Load Range G" tires. The front tires have recently been trued (shaved) and are dynamically balanced. 2000 Ford F-550 feature summary: XLT Lariat trim package with Thoroughbred Hauler conversion by Eclipse 148,000 miles on original engine and automatic transmission 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel engine AMSOIL bypass engine oil filtration system "Extreme-duty" 4-wheel drive with manual transfer case Manual lockout hubs 4.88 axle ratio differentials BD Engine Exhaust Brake Transfer-Flow fuel system with automatic auxiliary tank fuel pump, total system capacity 74 gallons Ford OEM 6.0L Powerstroke Transmission cooler Custom Solid Aluminum Western Hauler Bed Polished aluminum diamond plate rear deck Two locking exterior cabinet toolboxes with auxiliary interior lighting Locking rear tire and tool compartment Fiberglass headache rack with new lighting Fifth-wheel / Gooseneck hitch rails Reese AR-20K Fifth-wheel air-ride hitch Fold-down gooseneck hitch 2.5" trailer hitch receiver New 7-RV blade vehicle connectors Mud flaps with stainless steel trim 4" stainless steel exhaust tip Painted windshield visor Smoke door visors Bug shield Chrome Brush Guard Billet Grille Front Tires: 225/70/R19.5 Continental HSR "Load Range G" steering tires (less than 20,000 miles) Rear Tires: Dual 225/70/R19.5 Continental HDR "Load Range G" drive tires (less than 20,000 miles) Front Chrome Wheel Bud simulators with removable center cap to access manual hubs Rear Chrome Wheel Bud simulators featuring stainless braided tire valve extensions Solid rust-free glossy body Molded fiberglass running boards with courtesy step-lighting and slip-resistant surfaces Polished stainless steel door sill plates Custom front captain chairs with brand new leather seating areas and armrests Rear power sliding leather lay-down sofa bench seat Glossy simulated wood dash panel and door panel trim Solid wood center console with beverage holders, storage compartment, and CB mount Solid wood overhead console with reading light and auxiliary switches Interior mood lighting Tinted Power Windows Power Door Locks Pillar-mount quad-gauge pod Engine/Transmission Temp gauge, Boost gauge, and Pyrometer 6-position DP Tuner performance chip Electronic trailer brake controller SEE VIDEO HERE! The first was a 1995 dually, in which we replaced the automatic transmission once, but did nothing to the original engine and injectors; it remains on the road pulling trailers today at over 383,000 miles. The second was a 1999 that we sold with 285,000 miles, still going strong. We briefly owned a 1994 dually which was purchased from a friend, then resold. We purchased this beautiful F550 in 2007 with 104,000 miles. It is designed to pull a large RV or other heavy trailer. We currently own neither; therefore, it is too much "truck" for our needs. It is a 13-year-old vehicle with 148,000 miles; it has been well-cared for, but it is not new! We look forward to transferring ownership to someone else. We value our 100% Positive Feedback rating on over 700 ebay transactions. Please make all arrangements prior to purchase. Buyer shall provide $500 down payment via PayPal within three days of auction close.
