Vehicle Detail
RELIST: This was purchased by a guy who strung me along for 2 weeks without payment, then disappeared. PLEASE, if you don't plan to pay for something, do not bid on it! 1993 GMC SUBURBAN FOR SALE! Please read everything below! I have described all the good and bad things as best as I can. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and I assume no liability, warranty, or responsibility once the sale is complete. In other words, no refunds will be given -- so read! Thank you and thanks for looking! So, last year I bought this beast. It was supposed to be a project for me to fix up and turn into a rugged camper with a custom-bed inside. I drove it home from Ohio to New Jersey with no issues. When I got home I bought brand new 35" BFG Mud Terrain tires for $1200, changed the oil, and parked it in the driveway. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma (blood cancer) last year. Since then I've also gotten engaged to be married in October. Between the medical bills and wedding bills, I'm totally out of time and money and now I'll be selling "the project" to someone who has the will to fix this guy up and put him back on the road. Plus, my fiancee hates having it taking up half the drive-way and gave me the ultimatum. ;) The truck is not driving right now because it's been sitting a long while. The battery drained on it quickly, so I think something inside the truck is sucking the juice out (possibly the aftermarket flip-down tv). It started right up when I replaced the battery a few months ago. I drove it to work and back with no issues, then parked it. Then the battery drained again! The vehicle drives well when it's powered ;) I don't think there are any major mechanical problems at all. I tested the 4 wheel drive and it works and shifts fine. The truck has barn doors in the back. It also has a professionally installed (previous owner) 6" Pro-Comp lift. Like I said, I also installed brand new tires on it that are alone worth $1200. If you're interested in a project to get it back on the road or put it off the road, this is a great truck! The interior is in good condition and the 3rd row of seating is still installed! The bad (get this out of the way first!):- Battery drained completely, so not running. This may be because its been sitting a while in between drives, or something in the vehicle is draining it. I believe it is likely the aftermarket flip-down TV. I bought a brand new battery 3 months ago, and that is also drained. When I put a new battery in, it started right up, so the issue is electrical and not mechanical. - not all of the locks work with the key. It came that way to me and i never got new door locks put in or had it checked out. Probably easy fix, but haven't had time. - 186k miles.. hey, it's an old truck. - crack in windshield left side near top. Hasnt gotten bigger since i bought it. The Good:- solid 6" pro comp suspension lift, professionally installed- Brand new tires, BF Goodrich mud terrain - all three rows or seating, third row recently put in by previous owner but could be removed- i drove the truck from Ohio to NJ with no problems- 4wheel drive works good- truck looks cool and evil in all black ;) Basically it is an old truck with some old truck issues, but i think considering its a 1993 it looks and drives pretty damn good. If i had some extra cash and time I would keep it and make it my project. Remember, this truck is not running right now. If you win it, you'll have to bring a new battery or flat bed it when getting it picked up for delivery. If you Buy It Now, I will go out and buy a brand new battery to go with the truck. All the best,Jesse Edit #1: Got a question about the driving lights on the front light bar. They weren't hooked up by prev. owner. Edit #2: I believe the source of the electrical issue is likely a front turn signal that is getting water in it.
