I am listing this 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS for my father. He has owned and cared for this spectacular concours winning car since 1988. He is the 2nd owner. This 308 has only 20,476 miles on a meticulously maintained engine. This is undoubtedly one of the cleanest and lowest mileage 308s in the country. It has been a Sunday driver for its entire life. Always garaged. Only driven in nice weather. If you are serious about buying this car, you already know that the 1979 308s were the last of the carbureted cars. They are worth more than than 308 GTSi (injected) cars that debuted the following year. The fuel injected cars were substantially down on power vs. the preferred carbureted cars. So when comparing 308s, be sure you are not comparing apples to oranges. The fuel injected cars are less desirable and are therefore less expensive. It is worth noting that Symbolic Motors in La Jolla, California just recently acquired a 1978 308 GTS with 33k miles on it. While it looks to be in nice condition, it doesn't even come with the correct wheels. Symbolic has the car listed for $49,500. The car offered here is a 1979, has fewer miles on it, and comes with the correct wheels. This is a NO RESERVE auction with the opening bid substantially below the asking price of Symbolic. You'll get a nicer car for a lot less money. This 308 GTS is located in Hunt Valley, Maryland (north of Baltimore). Prospective buyers are welcome to come see the car in person and you may arrange to have the vehicle inspected at a shop of your choosing. Service has been performed locally by well-respected Treasured Motor Cars. The car will not disappoint. It is sold with all tools and books and seat covers and two car covers.
