Vehicle Detail

Very clean, restored 1972 Triumph Trident T150V. The good: Engine fresh throughout, freshly ground crank, bore/pistons, all new engine bearings, primary chain, etc. Later model 5-speed gearbox (not the early warrenty-replacement parts). Run very little, barely broken in, starts right up, purrs like a kitten, runs crisp and strong. Original point ignition system, some of us consider this not a bug but a feature. New battery, fresh Avon Super-Venom tires. Some frame accessory parts power-coated, such as footpeg brackets, brake pedal, etc., including chainguard and seat pan. But the main parts of the overall frame in the original black finish, and is in very good condition. Fuel tank interior professionally de-rusted and Caswell epoxy coated. All electrical items currently working, new horn relay, turn signal flasher, etc. Fresh paint, looks great. The bad: - The 72 conical DLS front hub was never their best brake system, attractive but not very effective, could use some professional help here. - Carb choke slides installed. Makes for easy starting, but idles too fast when warmed up. taking choke slides out makes it run cleaner, but takes more tickle-kick to start. I've seen others where the choke cables were routed differently, this might help. Again, a professional could probably offer advice here. - The ignition switch was giving a bit of trouble at one point. I disassembled it and cleaned up the contacts (they were dirty/corroded), much better since. Preferred to do that and keep it original than replace it with something non-original. Hasn't missed a bit since, but I still keep the fuse out when sitting for months. - Clutch good and tight, but a bit difficult to find neutral at a dead stop with the engine running. The ugly: Nothing really ugly on this beauty - a very small dent in the tank on one side, not visible in photos, Small spot on upper edge of left side cover where seat hinge dings the paint. The horn brackets on the frame were welded at some point. The not original (other than the obvious replacement consumables): - Mufflers: after-market units that look quite a bit like the originals. The headers themselves I'm not sure about, they may be original. - Horns: note many of the pix show no horns, I added them last. Originals almost impossible to find, these aftermarket units look a good bit like original, and they are loud. - The speedo/tach are vintage Triumph/Smith, but I don't think this pair is original to this model, not sure which model these with the blue-white arrow came from. - Seat cover obviously. - Paint: done in in original colors with the 3-stage PPG with the clear topcoat. A real beauty, a clean one, mostly original except where noted above, always turns heads. I've tried to do all I could to make this one the best it can be. But in the end, it is a 40+ year old motorcycle now, sold as-is, no warranties, guarantees, or returns. Payment by direct bank wire transfer only. Buyer arranges shipping - I can deliver to a Seattle-area shipper of your choice, or local pickup is available (I can meet you at the bank, during banking hours). No turnover until payment is complete and verified. In response to other queries, yes the frame number and engine number match.
