1968 Ford Galaxie XL. This was my father in law's car that he purchased in 1968. This is a factory 302 A/C three on the tree car with 63,000 +/- original miles on it. He was the second owner of this car. The car has bucket seats. The car has been well cared for. I took the car out of storage two years ago and started to work on it. I rebuilt the motor all the way down to the cam bearings. Everything in the motor is new. It is still a 302 but it has a Crane 280H cam with GT40P heads, Elderbrock aluminum intake, an Elderbrock 600 CFM electric choke carb. tuned for the motor and set up for the gears and weight of the car. Ford GT40P headers that are conected to a 2.5" dual exhaust with new Flowmasters out to the rear bumper. The factory distrubitor was replaced by an HEI type. The three speed shifter had been moved to the floor and I replaced it with a Tremic 5 speed transmission coupled to a new pressure plate, TO bearing and clutch. I have replaced the radiator with a new Griffin aluminum one with an electric fan for better cooling. Tha car has factory A/C , but it is not hooked up. The compressor and all is on the motor, but dose not work. I put a Scarebird front brake conversion kit on the car with a new power brake booster. I also put a new tilt steering columb and steering wheel in it. The car sits on American Racing 16x8 on the front and 17x10 on the rear. this car has the hideaway headlights. I replaced the fuel tank with a brand new one and replaced the sending unit at the same time. The interior of the car is ok, but needs carpet and a dash pad. The car needs some work and TLC and it can be a fun car to take for a cruise. I have the original heads, three speed tranmission, steering columb bell housing, that will also go with the car. The car is a factory tripple red car. The car will be sold as is where is. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell it at anytime during the auction.
