Vehicle Detail
This is a sweet little Scrambler. It has been restored mechanically and cosmetically. Mechanically the whole engine has been gone through and the CL72 top end was swapped for a CL77 top end to increase the CC's from 250 to 305. New timing chain, all new pistons, rings, etc. The bearings, both swing arm and steering head are brand new as are the internals on the carbs, air filters, hoses, brakes anything that needed to be replaced was replaced. The bike starts with one kick nearly every time. Cosmetically the bike was taken down to the last nut. Frame blasted and repainted, tank completely redone...inside is spotless and like new. Fenders and side covers were repainted the correct silver. Everything that could be polished was polished. Pipes were rechromed. she has lower handlebars on her now but I have the original bars that go with the bike. I also have the original passenger pegs that have not been installed since restoration. You can tell a lot from the pics, the bike is a little gem. Tires are brand new pirelli's. Chain and sprockets are new. Seat is a really nice recover on the stock pan. The bike looks as clean under the seat as it does anywhere else. Stock tool kit in the tool kit holder. The bike has been ridden since the resto so there are some marks here and there but nothing that detracts from the bike...she is a head turner. I've set the reserve at a VERY reasonable level, much less than restoration costs. This is a very solid and honest bike. On Mar-31-13 at 14:57:38 PDT, seller added the following information: BTW and for clarification: A sharp ebayer pointed out that the vin number indicates that this is actually a 1964 model year CL and that it probably was simply registered first in 1965. I checked and confirmed that the bike does have the very rare aluminum fenders which were apparently used last on the 1964 model bikes.
