Vehicle Detail
The following is everything I know about the bike passed down to me. I have several projects as and have no time to complete and fine tune this one so it is now for sale...I only ever got to scoot around town on this triumph and then it was parked, covered and sat.SAD!This is a rare Triumph, as the TT Special was only produced in 1966 and 1967. I purchased this bike from my cousin in 2010, he had purchased it from the original owner in 1972. He had told me, It has been rebuilt and added with an electronic ignition - 12 Volt. All items on the bike except the fuel tank are from the 70's . Has all matching numbers and did start on first couple kicks. This bike has less than 20 miles in 41 years. This is the information given to me by my cousin when he sold it to me due to health issues who recently passed... 1966 Triumph T120TTBolt on hard tail and bondo filledFront End springerAmal CarbsDrag PipesBars? 4 inch riseTwo quartz headlights17 inch Mini drum front wheelCustom tailight16 inch rear wheelPoints and coil, Stator4spd foot transmissionChain drive5inch chrome rear fenderCustom seatSantee oil tankpeanut fuel tankcustom side standspike nutsPazon --12volt electronic ignitionChrome covers etcetera..... What I have found with the bike is as follows to the best of my knowledge.Front and rear tyres show cracks they are from the 70's when the bike was customized, they hold air and I've ran it up and down the road recently but thats it.I needed to rock the bike forward to engage the trans with the clutch pulled in then it was smooth shifting through the gears and back to neutral. The AmalCarbs need to be adjusted correctly as i could not bring it to a smooth idle after the motor warms the idle was surging and dropping. When ran down the road it is a beast long and loud..approx 8 foot from front tire to rear tire....Compression feels strong and pluggs are from the 70's but looked good. Seemed to be getting some back pressure back to the oil tank not sure from what?? Something with the juggs maybe??recently noticed when i cleaned the bike the on the stand side the tube frame has a kink and small hole in it. Maybe from the original kick stand not sure...was going to get it repaired but dont have the time... MECHANICAL ENGINEER RESPONSE:::Hi Guys, DU 27219 is a T120C. Built October 1965 as a 1966 model and supplied to Tricor, Towson, Baltimore.it is a TT SPECIAL MODEL. T120 C designation was stopped in 66 and they were known officially as TT Specials. At some point in the 66 model year they changed the stamping to T120TT...
