Up for auction is this original California 1963 Chevrolet Suburban/Carryall 4WD 1500. This truck was built new at the Oakland, CA plant. It has spent it's entire life in the dry California Central Valley. THE BODY- The factory floor pans are solid and have not been tampered with and when lifting the original rubber mat I only found one pin hole on the passenger side. Both of the kick panels look good and have surface rust only. The original wood floor in the back has held up and is not rotted out it is solid. The original fire wall is in great condition and has not been cut up or beat on. The original paint on the fire wall is in good condition also there are no rusty spots on the drivers side or passenger side in the upper corners of the fire wall. The quarter panels are original to the truck and the drivers side has a light swipe back by the tail light and the rest of the quarter is straight. The passenger side quarter has old body work back by the tail light and the rest of the quarter is straight. The drivers doors has a rot spot on the out side lower door skin and the rest of the door is solid. The passenger door has a few small bubbles on the outer lower door skin and the rest of the door is solid. Both the front fenders have rot spots down low and the rest of the fenders are dry. I have checked the passenger side fender down low inline with the battery and it shows no signs of rust same with the drivers side. The passenger side inner fender wells also shows no signs of rust same with the drivers side. The radiator support is also original and shows no sings of rust and will not need to be replaced. The drivers outer rocker is rusty but the top of the rocker and the backside of this rocker is dry and clean. The passenger side is holding up and shows no sings of rusting out. The windshield pillars and upper windshield area both out side and inside are rust free and are in super condition. Behind the inner windshield rubber across the top is also dry and still shows its original paint at the pinch weld this area is not rusted out. The top of the metal dash down by the windshields rubber is in good condition and still has the original paint and is not rusty or water stained. The hood is straight and is not bowed. The original hood hinges are in good condition and are not sprung. The rain gutters are all solid along with the roof. The back hatch and tailgate are not rusty and are in good condition. The bottom side of this truck is not rotted out or full of under coating it is apparent when looking underneath this truck. This truck has all its original GM panels and is not a bondo up mess. This truck has small dents throught. The light green paint is a old repaint and the dark green is the original paint and the red is the factory primer. The areas on the back passenger quarter panel was painted to match the rest of the truck. THE INTERIOR- The inside of this truck is all original and the front and back seat are stock and they are due to be recovered. The dash area is not cut on and the original gauges are intact. The original steering wheel is in good condition for being original. THE MOTOR- This motor is a stock 6 cy that is a great running motor that has good power . This motor is not a leaker or a smoker. . THE TRANS/TRANSFER CASE - The trans shifts good and is in good working order and is not a leaker. The original transfer case does not leak and the 4x4 is in good working order. The rear end is a nice tight rear end that does not clunk or howl. The hubs lock and unlock nicely also when you drop this truck in to gear there is no universal joint clunks or noises. THE ELECTRICAL/AC- Most all the electrical in this truck is original and is in good working order THE OVER ALL- This truck is a driver that was well taken care of and was not beat on or abused. This truck is ready to enjoy and is a blast to drive. This truck also has the original black California licence plate. The front end is nice and tight and this truck steers straight for being a 1963 4x4. The rims look to be original are in good condition. The mud style tires will need to be replaced they are weather checked. This truck is equipped with the stock springs and has new shocks. The glass is not cracked or pitted and is in good original condition. The front and rear bumpers are original and are straight and clean for being original. The brake are in good working order. The bottom side of this truck is not under coated from the factory and it is clear to see that it is not a rotted out mess.
