Vehicle Detail

Out of time, patience & money.......Bought this '56 as someone else's unfinished project in 2011 and I have done a ton more work to it since. Will need complete interior (has original back seat and front seat from a '56 four door) side door/quarter glass, door weatherstrip, rear bumper & taillights, finish wiring for dash and taillights. Read on carefully for an honest description. BODY: Original rust free Nevada car with one piece California frame this 56 retains all it's original body panels (except hood & trunk) Person I got it from had a shop strip it to bare metal.perform any needed bodywork, shoot it in DP40 and applied high build primer. That's when the work stopped and I bought it. I turned it over to another shop summer of 2012 who did the final prep and shot it in bc/cc BLACK. Not show perfect but very, very nice. Deep paint with a nice shine. Front floor boards and under rear seat floor were replaced due to some pinhole rust other than that the frame, trunk floor and all under body braces and brackets are original and SOLID! The underside of the car was then painted chassis black after some cleaning. DRIVETRAIN: The engine is a great running mid 80's 350 I bought used from a wrecked 1989 Camaro. The mileage is unknown but I had the pan off to inspect the bottom end and all the bearings were clean and marked .030 oversize. I installed a new oil pump and timing set and dropped it into the car along with the Camaro's original 700R4 overdrive transmission. (approx 90K miles) Trans has a drip from the speedo housing seal and the engine has a slight oil leak from the front. May be the timing cover seal but I haven't investigated it closely yet. No smoke, no noises and fires right up. Car has only been driven around the block a few times and the trans shifts fine. Obviously I have not had it up to speed to test the o/d lockup. Rear differential was cleaned & checked. New pinion seal and axle bearings/seals installed. Stock 3.70 ratio non posi. NEW: 2" dropped sprindles (first 7 pictures show the car with dropped spindles & 2" rear lowering blocks installed the remaining pictures are before they were installed....sits nice!) Disc brake converison Posies reverse eye 3" lowered leaf springs (front coils are OEM with one coil cut) Bowtie Overdrives o/d lock-up kit Dave's Small Body HEI conversion Q-jet carb rebuilt & calibrated by Cliff's Qjets Gas tank & sender Balanced driveshaft with new u-joints Shocks Exhaust system with H-pipe Rear shock relocation bar Battery Windshield Back window OEM tinted installed with new seal Rear brakes, drums, wheel cylinders Control arm bushings Lower ball joints Inner & outer tie rods Idler arm & drag link bushings Master cylinder Ram horn exhaust manifolds with 2.5" outlet Front bumper Hood ornament Hood & trunk emblems and Vee's Trunk weatherstrip 1/4 scripts Hood bar and extensions (grille & parking lights are nice originals) B&M Promatic shifter Universal wiring kit Headlight relay kit Electric puller fan with 190 degree on and 180 degree off relay. One wire alternator High torque mini starter Aluminum radiator All interior garnish moldings, speedo assembly and vent window assemblies are included. Lots of $$ into this car with most of the hard work done. Once finished this will be a real nice hotrod that you can drive & enjoy. Clear title in hand.
