Vehicle Detail
This is a 1972 Honda CL 350 Motorcycle. IN 1972 NEW YORK DID NOT ISSUE TITLES FOR MOTORCYCLES..... MOTORCYCLE WILL COME WITH A 1982 NEW YORK TRANSFERABLE REGISTRATION AND BILL OF SALE SIGNED BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER THAT THE BIKE WAS REGISTERED TO IN 1982 I have owned this motorcycle since 1996, It was given to me then by a friend of the family who was in bad health. When it was given to me the previous owner told me that he had not used it since 1981 and that it ran fine when parked..... It had 5,443 miles at that time.... Me and my father looked it over and changed all the fluids and found that it only needed a Carb rebuild to get it running.... We got it running and it sounded OK we drove it up and down the street a few times and then it was parked again for a complete clean up and rebuild... Fast forward 17 years to 2013 and the Bike still has not been touched. I was 18 when this was given to me and my father parked it in one of his garages for the later rebuild... He was more of the motorcycle guy than I did the majority of the going over it and getting the bike running.... I recall him telling me that one of the cylinders had less compression than the other but both were within spec at the time but he was thinking of doing a full tear down and rebuild. My father passed away late in 2012 and while cleaning out the back garage I found this as it sits under a tarp in the back corner of the garage.... Honestly I hadn't thought about the bike in so long I forgot all about the bike until I saw it under that tarp. So much for the story of the bike Now for the actual details.... I am more of a car guy but the bike looks to be a good candidate for restoration... It needs some paint work and most of the chrome shows some rust and other imperfections but all appears repairable..... It appears as if it is all complete and unmolested.... the side covers look to be in OK shape and I did not see any cracks... The Exhaust looks good with only surface rust on the chrome.... One of the exhaust covers was painted black and is not installed on the bike but is present. The front fender has a tiny dent towards the front right side and the headlight surround shows some cracking towards the top Overall this bike needs somebody who is willing to tear it all down and go over everything and bring it back to life.... The Frame looks great with no damage or serious rust noticed... Do not expect to come here and spend 2 hours wrenching on it and drive it away it will need some work to get it going again. I would welcome anyone interested to come look at the bike in the 13760 zip code to inspect it for yourself.... Please ask any and all questions before you bid and I will do my best to answer them and get you any additional pictures needed I would like $100 DEPOSIT via Paypal and the remainder to be payed in cash within 7 days at the time of pick up..... Cashiers checks and Money Orders will also be accepted within 7 days but the bike does not leave my possession until they clear my bank 100%.. I will assist with loading the Motorcycle onto your truck or trailer but will not crate the bike for shipping or look for any shipping quotes..... On Mar-15-13 at 09:01:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I just want to be perfectly clear with everyone interested........ This bike is being sold as is and full restoration is reccomended..... I have had no less than 7 questions asking me if it currently drives and it is obvious these people are not reading the description. My experience with this bike is that I put 4 miles on it 17 years ago at the ripe old age of 18.... I am not into motorcycles and do not know much about the mechanics of a motorcycle.... If you are a serious bidder and want to know mechanical conditions of items I reccomend you or someone you trust come look it over before the auctions ends.
