Vehicle Detail
Very nice, super straight Florida truck, this truck had been sitting for about 4 years when I found it, under a car port, it is 90 % rust free, and has the original 235 straight six, and three speed on the floor. The engine was suppose to have been rebuilt a couple years before it was parked, but when I got it running, it blew the head gasket after only 10 minutes of running, I put a new head gasket on it, it ran good for a little while, but then it started making a top end noise, like a broken ring, or piston, I pulled the oil pan off, and found three small pieces of what look like piston ring, the rods and mains are all nice and tight. Most people looking for these trucks want to put a small block in them anyway. I put a new master cylinder in it, checked the brakes, and wheel cylinders, it stops well, has a good brake pedal, and it drives pretty nice, it has headers, and dual exhaust, not loud, but sounds nice. I also put four brand new tires on it, the paint looks great for a driver, it is not a show truck paint job, but it is a really good looking truck, there is very little bondo to be found in the truck, and only a few small blemishes in the paint. The truck has the chrome grille, and there is some small rust pitting on the grille, and in the middle top flat part of the rear , not really noticeable for a driver, just not show quality, there is also a small blemish on the left side of the grille, again ,not very noticeable, I tried to get pics, but the lighting was not right. The amp meter gauge, and temp gauge work, the fuel gauge, and oil pressure gauge does not, I checked the fuel gauge, it is bad, and the oil pressure gauge is not hooked up, I am still checking to see if it is mechanical, or electric. The engine does have oil pressure though, I ran it without the valve cover when I adjusted the valves, All the lights work, as well as the dome light! Even the dash lights work! The passenger vent window is missing the latch, the transmission shifts smooth, and the clutch engages nicely, with no chattering, or slipping. The original owners manual is with the truck, and it's in great shape ! I have many more pictures for serious buyers upon request, I'm sure the odometer has rolled over, but I had to put a value in the miles category, so I just put the odometer reading. These trucks are doing over 20,000.00 in only marginally better shape than this one, I have this one priced to sell! May accept a trade, as far as trades, let me know what you have, send pics!! Feel free to e mail, text, or call with any questions. Thank You Keith On Mar-13-13 at 08:40:43 PDT, seller added the following information: ****UPDATE**** I HAVE LOCATED A GOOD USED ENGINE HERE LOCALLY !! I WILL INCLUDE IT IN THE PRICE OF THE TRUCK IF IT REACHES RESERVE**** If the truck doesn't reach reserve, I will give the buyer the contact info to buy the engine, either way it will be the responsibility of the buyer to pick up the engine. It came out of a 1955 Chevy truck, and comes with a 3 speed manual transmission that is good, but it needs an input shaft bearing. The engine, I am told, runs perfect with no blow by, no smoke, and no engine noises, the owner is a mechanic also. Thanks, and Happy Bidding !!
