Vehicle Detail

For sale we have a 1982 RM 465. Tough to find this particular bike in decent condition. This is one of two RM465's I have so I decided to sell one. Motor has very good compression. Starts runs, shifts as it should. It is a good core bike if you are looking for a rider but if you are handy you can probably make this bike look very nice. This bike is a rocket so if you have not ridden an open class bike before this may not be the bike for you. The buyer of this bike will get a Bill of Sale along with a Suzuki factory race prep manual. **** I also had a spare seat recovered which the gripper seat cover which I am throwing in for free (see pic) **** *** Be sure to check out my other motorcycle listings *** Rear tire is about 70%, Front tire is new.Motor has excellent compression and is tight. The pipe is a DG I believe and there is a good size dent in the neck of the pipe. Does not seem to effect the performance.Silencer is stock which is amazing because they are usually the first thing to go.Rear shock shaft is nice and the shock does have dampening with no leaks I can detect. Could probably use a recharge because I have never serviced it. (This bike does have the upgraded aluminum struts for the swing arm instead of the steel ones.)Fork seals seam to be good (if you plan on racing it you may want to change the fork oil). Seat cover is after market and the foam is not great but works fine. Swingarm is in excellent condition. Plastics are aftermarket (except for the tank) and are in good shape (side cover decals are new). Tank has new "wicked tough" decals and is in pretty nice shape. There are some scuffs on the top (see pic) but those could be sanded and polished out if you are handy. I also put a new gas cap on it because the old one was cracking. Installed a new chain and a rear sprocket (tough to find the "stock" looking sprockets)New bars, perches, levers, grips. In the pictures the rubber mud flap which protects the clevis and shock head is missing. I tracked a used on down and will be installing it . If you really wanted to make this bike look great you could powder coat the frame and paint the motor but if you just plan to ride or race it then those thing would not need to be done. Please feel free to Text, Email or Call me with any questions you may have about the bike - 386-956-9037 , I would be happy to answer them. VIDEO - I do have video of the bike that I just took yesterday. Can not figure out how to link it to the auction but i can email it to you directly. Shipping: shipping arrangements and cost are the responsibility of the buyer. I do have some shippers I could refer to you that do east coast and coast to coast shipping pretty reasonable (usually runs around 300-350)if you need some. I am willing to store the bike for you once it is paid for in order to give you ample time to arrange shipping. Payment: a non-refundable deposit of 200.00 dollars is due upon purchase and the balance of payment is due within 7 days of the auction ending. Balance of payment can be made in cash upon pickup, Bank transer or United Postal service money order. NOTE: please keep in mind there is no warranty with this bike. It is a vintage motorcycle that is over 30 years old.
