1978 Honda CB550 built in the Japanese brat style by Gasoline Alley Social Club (gasolinealleysocialclub.tumblr.com) This bike started life as an unloved cruiser waiting to be resurrected. It was completely disassembled, de-tabbed, bearings checked and re-greased. All welding performed was TIG. Went through and cleaned up the wiring harness and replaced the voltage regulator and original rectifier with a single modern unit. A mid 70's CB tank was installed for a sleeker finish and professionally painted in a gorgeous gun metal gray. A custom aluminum electronics tray was fabricated and all the gizmos are now located under the seat in a Gasoline Alley Social Club tray. Keeping with the minimalist theme the 8 cell Antigravity battery is now located under the rear swingarm in a custom GASC box. It is pre-wired with a battery tender cord so it will be nice and easy to charge when needed. We replaced the gauges with 2.5 inch mini units. Has a brand new ignition key switch with two keys. A brand new 4 into 1 exhaust system was fitted and mated to a new stainless 12 inch silencer. Fitted with 4 new pod filters. A brat style upswept seat was added with the new rear loop. A custom GASC fabricated aluminum license plate bracket hangs onto the rear shock and also holds the CNC machined rear brake LED. Helping it stop is the rebuilt front brake caliper, platinum colored stainless steel line, new pads front and rear and new brake fluid. The front disc was ground, refinished and drilled with a 120 hole pattern. Fresh oil and oil filter and a stainless steel bolt kit. Brand new Dunlop K70's.
