This 1955 Packard Clipper Constellation is a local California car that has been in a barn since 1972 and is in restorable condition. This Packard is equipped with the factory 352-cid V8 4 barrel, Automatic, Power brakes, Power seat, Wonder bar radio, Torsion bar suspension with integrated levelizer. This 1955 2dr hardtop is a dry car to restore or to use as a nostalgic hotrod/Rat rod. This car is hard to find with only 6,672 built. I do have a clean California title and the vin and trim tag are original to the car I do not have keys to the car. THE BODY- This car maintains all of its original sheet metal and it is all in good condition. The original floor pans on this car are in good condition for being original and are not rusting through or soft at all. The floor pans have not been patched or tampered with at all they all look good. The body braces and rocker panels are also original to the car and are solid with out flaking or pitting. The trunk pan is not soft and will not have to be patched or replaced. The spare tire well is also in super condition and will not be patched or replaced. The front fenders are stock to the car and are rust free and are in super condition and have never been patched or tampered with. The doors are the same no rust holes or patches they are in good condition. The bottom of both doors have light surface rust only but are not soft and do not have pin holes and have not been tampered with. The quarter panels are also original to the car and are in good condition with no sings of damage or cutting or patching and they are not full of body filler. The bottom of both quarters behind the rear tires have small rust spots please see the pictures this is the only rust on the car that will need to be patched that I could find. The back and front window area is dry and clean. The metal dash and the windshield area is also rust free and is in good condition. The roof and rain gutters are rust free and are in good condition. The fire wall and the trans tunnel has never been touch by a hammer or a saw. Over all this 1955 body is good condition and there is a few small door dings hear and there but their is nothing hiding in this body. The bottom of this car is not undercoated and its clear to see that it is not a rusted out mess. THE PAINT- The factory code for the paint is VP black and yellow and it is showing its age. THE INTERIOR- The original interior code is 57 black and yellow and the original black paint inside of the car is all in good condition. The headliner does have sum discoloring but is intact. The sun visors are intact. The original seats to the car are intact and showing there age. The original instrument and gages are clean and bright. The steering wheel is original and is in good condition. The radio is clean and is stock to the car. The door panels are original and are in good condition. All The original felt and rubbers through the car are intact. THE MOTOR/TRANS- The original Motor is clean inside when you look at the upper valve train it is sludge free. The motor turns over freely by the starter and it may start but I have not gotten that far. The trans is also original to the car and is intact. . THE SUSPENSION- The original 1955 engineering. Leading the list of features was Torsion-Level suspension, an interlinked torsion-bar arrangement Nance acquired from a clever inventor, Bill Allison. Operating on all four wells Torsion-Level was so impressive that Chrysler which had planned to introduce torsion front suspension put it off a year lest Packard claim its version was twice as good! A complicated electrical system allowed the suspension to correct for load and weight, and the interlinking of all four wheels provided truly extraordinary ride and handling, especially over very rough surfaces. THE BRIGHT WORK AND GLASS- THIS IS A SUPER DRY CAR THAT DID NOT SEE A LOT OF MOISTURE. Both front and rear bumpers are original that are in good condition without hardly any pitting at all. The grill and headlight bezels are also original and will blow your mind how clean they are for their age. This car's inner and outer bright work is all in good condition for being original. The windshield is cracked along with both the drivers/passenger door side glass. The rest of the side and the back glass is in good original condition.
