Vehicle Detail
1997 Mitubishi Eclipse GST spyder. I have had the car for a year. The previous owner, who I have worked with for 15+ years, sold me the car with a blown head gasket and it would not idle all the time as it had an intermittent issue. I have read that is might be a coil igniter, coil pack or cam angle sensor. She just drove it work every day with a commute of 35 miles one way. I purchased it from her and the head gasket was leaking. I got a new one and replaced it and also did a new timing belt. When jacking it up I think I bent the oil pressure sending unit and there is a leak there now. That was the last straw that day after working on it for 2 days to replace the head gasket so I parked it with the intention of getting back to it and finishing it up. So you will need to fix the oil leak, I did buy a new oil pump just in case that was part of it but never put it in so it comes with that. I do not know DSM's that well so if someone does this will be a great deal. I just have 3 other project cars to fix before this one and have no time to do it. If I kept it it would sit for another year before I get to it and my wife is tired of looking at it for the last year in the driveway. The car ran when I parked it there with the oil leak. Battery is currently dead so it might need a new one, but I can try to charge it before it is picked up. Car can not be driven away for the oil leak. Things I think off wrong with, top has a small tear, about 2-4" long. I put some clear convertible top tear covering on it so it would not leak or spread. Top comes down manually so I am thinking it might be the switch. I think 3 tires are ok, but one is a bit warn so it should be replaced. Drivers seat is leather and ripped so you will need to find another seat, get a seat cover to just not worry about it. Paint is ok, never been in an accident, but the hood area above the turbo is paint faded with some chips in it from getting hot over the last 15 year. Overall it will be a great project car for someone who has the time to do it. Reserve set very low. If you want further info just email me.
